Hey everyone welcome to another episode of Walking and Power.
So as you as a leader who grow in the Lord and you lead others, there's always this desire
to be able to build something that is worthwhile, that is for the people that you're serving,
for family, whoever.
And in 2 Corinthians chapter 4 verse 16, it talks about building that things that we do in
this light that should be for the glory of God, that anything that we God allows us to do
graces us to do should really be an opportunity for us to point that, that body of work or
our success and point it back to God because he really gets all the glory because he has given
us eternal life and has given us grace to live this life that we are currently in.
But in 2 Corinthians chapter 4 verse 16, it talks about how our outer body is decaying and our inner
self is being renewed day by day and the things that we face in this world do not compare to the
glory that's to come.
And I wanted to focus on in that for a moment, we can get so caught up in building things
on the side of heaven that we can forget that there's an eternal part of our life, our
spirit.
And the things that we build on this earth, they're important.
They're not just saying well we're just trying to get to heaven one day and we're not
going to have to worry about operating excellence without the worry about hitting goals, we don't
have to worry about being the best person we can be.
We absolutely have to do that.
But we also have to remember that our main priority is that as we do those things, we're
pointing people to Jesus, we're telling people about Jesus.
So it's not just about saying look what I've built and look what I've done, but it's
twofold saying look what I've done to the grace that God has given me.
And so in this life we can sometimes put this effort and time to building things are
just temporary at best, no matter what.
All of us at one point or take our last breath, no one is going to live forever.
And I don't stand to be morbid or I don't have to be depressing, but I say as a fact.
And so the things that we're doing right now, are there things that are going to be
heavy, eternal value to them?
So when you think about those things, the people that are closest, how is it look when
you are saying, I'm developing you as a follower of Christ, I want to see you grow in that.
And sometimes we struggle because we're not really putting the time in to know the Scriptures,
we're not putting time to be at church or to spend time seeing down people because
our life is pulling us forward so much.
And so our outer body is going to decay, right?
We're going to get older, we're going to, you know, some levels, not be as good as we
maybe once we're when you're younger, still great and functioning at a high level, but
there's also the reality that we're not always going to be moving as quick as we always
did.
And so the decisions we make today are very important to what happens tomorrow.
And so as we look at the decisions that we make, so we, you know, we talked about like
our external, our external body, but your internal, your spirit, how are you renewing your
spirit daily with Jesus?
And so that's something that, and I encourage you to think about it even today, that you're
not just saying, well, yeah, I think I'm good enough, but there's work that God's doing
all of us all the time, myself included because God, how He operates, He just does operate,
saying, well, you found me, you're doing great things, God is going to me, right?
And He just leaves you there.
God is always going to push you.
God is always going to take you to the level.
We always say this, the kingdom of God is always moving forward.
And we want to be moving with the kingdom of God and what's happening.
So in your world and your space, be mindful that it's not always the big grandiose things
that move things, but sometimes it's just being kind of one person, it's sharing Jesus with
one person.
You know, we always love the idea of, you know, we're going to change the world and that's
your right.
The idea, thought to have, but also there's the challenge that we say God, how can you
use meat to change a world, right?
Even just flip that a little bit to think about what can I do to change one person's
world drastically?
And that could look a lot of different ways.
But imagine if you say, you know, I'm not going to worry about trying to impact everyone
about, I'm going to try to impact one or two people, right?
Even Jesus the greatest leader, He impacted 12 and even in those 12, there's people who didn't
make it with Him.
And so to be mindful that Jesus Himself who had authority and all power, He was someone
that had to realize that, you know, my best use of my time, my skills, my talent, my
authority, my influence is to retake these 12 and give them everything that I got.
So even in your life, can you identify people that are your 12, the people who are close
to you because at the end of the day, all of us, right?
The things that we build, the things that we are grace to do, some of the most meaningful
ones that were happening in the hearts and lives of people that Lord willing, right?
One day people could look at your life and say, there's such a role model to me, not just
in a certain aspect, but in the faith that they were faithful and that they were a person
integrity and character.
I mean, those are the things that we want that we just don't settle in this life, that
we just don't live for pleasure, we just don't live for our own vanity.
We don't live for our own fleshly desires, but we live in this idea that says, God, everything
that's outside of my spirit is temple and it will decay below what you do in the hearts
of men and women that last forever.
So I want to encourage you today that what you built in this life, make sure it's worth
it, make sure you focus, make sure you make the main thing, the main thing, and that's
Jesus.
And to be able to think through that lens when you talk to people, when you're around
people, and can you be a person who is building something that has eternal value and a worth
to someone's life.
And I think I hope you all are doing well.
And today I even just want to pray for you on this video.
So I just pray that I will speak to you as you go about your day and throughout your
week.
So Father, I thank you for every person, Lord, that's listening to this video.
God, that you would allow them to really see your, they really see your grace upon their
life or decision they may have made that they're not proud of, but Lord, you've graced
them to make it through that.
Allow them to operate in that grace to say, Lord, how can I bring glory back to you?
How can I bring honor back to your name?
And that when they do that, Lord, there's going to just see it such a great return that
people say, thank you for investing in me.
Thank you for speaking to me and giving me eternal worth inside of my own life.
So Lord, we just pray for every person, Lord, that they would get closer to you, that they
wouldn't settle, that they wouldn't just shrink back in their faith, but they'd go all
in with you.
I want to pray.
Amen.
And thank you all.
I hope you're doing great.
And I will see you next time on Walking in Power.
