Count money, man.
Stacked riches.
I'm trying to told him I'm a beast, but...
What's up, gang?
Welcome back to another episode of The Grindcast.
Get ready.
It's a new day.
And recently, I got asked a question in an interview style thing.
And I wanted to share some of it with you.
And it got my mind going on in the question.
Tell us something that you believe that almost nobody agrees with you on.
And I think to me, that would be that there is no such thing as balance in order to be great.
That if you want to be great, you're not going to have balance.
You're going to be obsessed.
That's why...
Who was that Grant Cardone that wrote the book?
The Be Obsessed or Be Average?
I don't agree with everything that Grant says, but that's that one I do for sure.
Because that is be obsessed or be average, that there's no such thing as balance if you're going to be great.
And I think to me what I've learned about balance is the best way to get balance is that you first got to give up balance and go all in.
And I think so is life, right?
Is that the best way to get respect is by giving respect.
The best way to get love is to give love.
The more you give, the more you receive.
In order to have money down the road, you invest and give up money upfront.
And I think the same thing is true with time.
In order to get time, that's what balance is, is where I can do other things and have more time on my hands to do things that I enjoy, is that you've got to give up all that stuff first.
And if you give up all that stuff first and you go all in on being great, then down the road, I think it'll give you more balance.
It all depends on what you're trying to be great in. But if you could just look at people, let's look at people that we pay money to go see.
Comedians, actors, actresses, I know Drake just came out with three new albums, whatever it is.
Now, if you were to ask him, like, didn't he say one of his songs, working on the weekends, like usual, people want to buy tickets to his event.
They wish they had that life and the mansions, but he's working on the weekends. People don't want to work on the weekends.
If he goes on tour and does a concert, you know, tour, then you're in it.
Might be in three, four different cities in a week, up all night, on the grind.
And that's just after that ain't even the process leading up to how did you even develop that skill set? How did you get great?
If you look at somebody that's great in anything, dancers, martial artists, like all the people that I've been around that are great.
LeBron James, you know, you look at LeBron and it's like, man, how's he playing at 41? Well, he shared his daily routine from the time he wakes up on a game.
Just go look it up. See what time he gets up, see what he does. It's called, where's, you show me in there where there's time for balance.
I think LeBron, like, don't they usually play Christmas games too? Basketball. I think he was in like a bunch of basketball games on Christmas.
Well, how's he going to do Christmas with his family? How? Well, that's, he's the goat. So he's one of them.
So he got to work on Christmas. You know, you look at players, you look at people that have accomplished great things.
These are people that went all in. And so you can't accept or expect greatness out of yourself unless you go all in on something.
And all in and balance are, you know, really two different things. But balance, I think to me, the way that I've learned to get balance is by not having any in the beginning.
That's how you get it. Is the goat all in, put all your time and energy and then down the road because of those sacrifices, you become so great at something that a skill is developed or a business is developed that down the road, you get to have a chance to have some balance.
But just news flash. If you, if you want to continue to go to the next level, you're going to continue to have to sacrifice.
That's why they say success is a journey. It's not a destination. You got to, you got to build a life that is just like a part of what, you know, what you do.
And so I think just encouraging you all that want the balance, that you'll get it down the road if you go in and become great at something.
And to be great at something, you're going to have to give up a lot of stuff. And you got to understand, you know, just here's something that has helped me over the years.
How good do you want to be? Why do you want to be that good? So how good do you want to be?
Just look at it. Let's say, I want to be a professional baseball player. Okay. What percent of kids at 15 years old right now become major league baseball players? What percentage of baseball players?
And let's say it, I don't know. I didn't look it up. Let's say it's 1%. Then, and I don't even think it would be one. But if it was 1%, then you got to understand that there's, you got to be willing to do what 99% of the other baseball players are not willing to do.
You got to sacrifice things that other people are not willing to sacrifice. You got to do things. You got to go places. You got to work harder. You got to work longer than other people.
That's, it's just as simple as that. And so regardless of, of your stance, wherever you're listening to this, add a whatever you're trying to be great at, give yourself a percentage and say, how good do I want to be?
And what percentile would that put me in? Top 5% as of this, top 1% as of this. And whatever that is, you just got to encourage yourself all the time and remind yourself, it's okay if not everybody believes this.
It's okay to not everybody wants to work like this. It's not okay to, it's okay to everybody doesn't want to sacrifice her because they may be a part of the other 98%.
I'm trying to be a part of that top 2% and so it'll help you if you just hang around those top 2% because then you're not weird.
But understand if you're trying to be one out of 100, you're going to be the weird kid. So if you're, if everybody's wearing black and you wear yellow out of 100 people, everybody's like, who's that kid in the yellow? What's he doing? What's she doing? Why she in yellow?
Well, same thing, if you're around 100 people and not everybody's trying to be great, you're the one that is, you're going to be weird. Why's he eating like that? Why's he going to bed so early? Why's she waking up so early? Why's she always on the phone? Why's he always on a plane? Why's he always reading these books? Why's it always one?
Everybody wants to be like the new young, the young thing to do is I'm him, right him. Everybody wants to be him till it's time to do what him does.
And even if you want to do what him does, you got to be willing to do what him did to do what him do. And so if you're in the him did face the doing part of it, you got to give yourself a lot of encouragement to understand that you're not going to be weird to the people that win at the level that you want to win at.
If you think you're going to go knock off the undefeated world champ and you're going to get it by a bunch of ballots, that ain't it. You know what I mean? That ain't going to happen.
So go all in. The man that chases two rabbits, the woman that chases two rabbits at the same time catches none. It's another mistake I see people trying to do two, three different things at one time.
There's another one I think that people wouldn't agree with, but I believe in is that it don't take seven streams of income.
Everybody wants seven stream. You got to have seven streams of income. What are these people come up with this stuff? You only need one stream of income, a major stream of it.
I'm talking about like let them have five streams and you have a fire hose of income. Okay.
Would you rather have five streams, you know, making you 50,000 a year a piece? Or would you rather have one stream making you five million a year?
Because to me the way to set up the seven streams is I am good with people having other streams of income. But only after you dominate one stream is what I think when you try to set up too many streams up front.
It causes you to not to be able to invest everything into one of them to make it a fire hose, to make it a tsunami, to make it a ocean.
Then you can create streams out of the ocean. You don't create the ocean out of having all these streams. You create the ocean by going all in on one thing.
One stream, keep building it, building it, making it pool, making a lake, make it a ocean. Then we make streams.
But people get caught up, these young people, people tell them they need streams. So they make these streams and they never end up making a lake.
They don't make a lick. They don't make a lake. They don't make a ocean. They don't get a lot because they're trying to get a little in too many different places. It's another thing.
So my suggestion on the streams of income is don't worry about five, six, seven streams of income. Go master one stream of income. Make it huge and then create other streams of income.
So that's my little bit of wisdom I got for you guys today. Hopefully you found some value in it. If you did, would you do us a favor share it with some other people. It only takes two minutes.
Pause one second share it. Share it with other people so we can impact other people around us. That's all I'm asking. And as always, we appreciate you for joining us on another episode of the grind cast. Get ready us a new day.
