Hey everyone, this is Nate Ortiz and this is Walking and Power and I want to talk to you
about the word grace.
Has there been times in your life where you have said, I need grace.
I have messed up.
I have fallen down.
I made a big mess.
I, things are out of control and if you have kids, you know this is true that you've had
to give grace to them but when you are a kid, right, you need a grace unto you.
Even as adults, we need grace.
And no one is better at giving grace than God.
Now when we think about grace, there are people sometimes who don't give themselves
enough grace where they feel like they mess up, they beat themselves up, they are just
so hard on themselves, they think, how can I do this, how can I mess up again and that's
an healthy place to be.
Then there are other people on the other side that live their life and they live with this
sloppy idea of grace.
They cheap and what grace is.
They say, well, like it's no big deal.
God is going to forgive me or people will forgive me.
You get stuck in these cycles that just allows you to, you know, bust through relationship
boundaries.
So you bust through what the Word of God says and you don't hold it to your life.
You don't want to be that person either but you want to be in the middle of saying, God
in this life, I know that I have a sinful nature.
I know I'm not perfect.
I know I have issues in my life but I know that you sent your son Jesus down the cross for
me that today I could have grace to walk and live my life.
So even as you're watching this video, you might be thinking, man, there's some errors
in the grace of my life and you might be seeing saying, not everything is good.
I mean, I don't need grace.
But even if you're wherever you are in that, maybe there's people around you that you
need to extend grace to.
So in times, he has John Maxwell would say, you know, we judge people on their actions,
we want people to judge our intent where we feel like, well, I was going to do this or
I would have done this, but this happened or this, you know, when we have all these excuses
or thoughts, what it might be, but we need to be people that extend grace when things
are taken too long at the restaurant or, you know, someone in our family is just really
upsetting us or they, we fucked their letting us down.
We have to learn how to give grace.
Now, you know, we understand that God's grace is unlimiting and there's obviously boundaries
that you place with people.
You know, you're not a walking mat when you show grace to people, but you have to be able
to really take things to God and say, God, I need your grace.
Or if it's for someone else, you say, God, show me how that I can extend grace in a way that
is helpful for that person, but also helps my heart because God will give you the strength
to do that.
God will always give you the strength to carry out his word in this life.
And so when you think about grace, think of for yourself where we fall in that, do you
need to show yourself more grace or do you really need to have a better understanding of
grace, but also who else around you?
So a second Corinthians chapter 9 verse 8 says this, and God is able to make all grace
abound to you.
So always having all sufficiency in everything you may have an abundance for every good deed.
When it says God is able to make all grace abound to you, that brings joy to my heart.
It makes me feel like there's moments where I feel like I'm doing great and then there's
moments it literally feels like this verse and it's like God, I need all the grace you
got, send it to me, ASAP, I need it.
And I know for some of you watching this, you're thinking, yeah, I've been there, but
God's grace comes to you not just so you can say, well, this is good, I just move on
passable.
God's grace extends to you in all things, right?
And all to have sufficiency in everything that you may have an abundance, right?
You're abundance, it doesn't say for yourself, it doesn't say an abundance for the things
you want to do.
It just says an abundance to complete it for every good deed, to do every good deed.
That's life that Jesus, when he said this on, he walked this earth, when Jesus walked
this earth, he lived a life that was giving grace to people, not excusing behaviors, not
allowing them to stay in sin cycles, but he extended grace to people.
And when he gave that grace to them, he would tell them, you know, you go and send them
more and they would go and they would tell people about what God has done their life and
there was a grace for them that was extended that they had this new life in Christ and maybe
they were healed or maybe God is something in their family.
But the whole idea that God's grace is sufficient to care out every good deed in your life today.
So if you need grace, pray, ask God for it, He's going to give it to you.
And after yourself, but that you can do all the things that He's asked you to do, the things
that He's put on your heart, the things that His word says to do that He feels like that
is a big deal for me.
I don't know if I could do it.
God's grace is sufficient and He loves you enough to give it to you.
So I just want to end this video today with a prayer.
A prayer that you would extend grace to yourself, extend grace to others, but it's only through
the grace that God gives you in abundance.
Hey, let's pray.
Lord, I thank you for your word.
Lord, I just pray that we would just take this word grace and apply it to our life, to
our mentality, to leadership, to our family or whatever it may be.
God, we would understand we are not perfect beings.
We are not people who have it all together.
But Lord, it is only through your grace that you give us the strength to accomplish every
good deed, Lord, that we have sufficient seeing every other area God because of the grace
that you extend.
We thank you for that, Lord.
And we love you.
And we just live our lives in a way to honor you and your own and pray.
Amen.
Hey, thanks for tuning in and checking out this word.
I will see you all next time.
