Blueprint vs Execution
Show notes
You can give someone the blueprint for massive success, but the only way to guarantee it is accurate and disciplined execution.

Count money, man.
Count money, man.
Stacked riches.
I'm trying to told him, I'm a beast, but...
What's up, gang?
Welcome back to another episode of The Grand Caz.
Get ready.
It's a new day.
We're going to talk about blueprint versus execution today.
You can give somebody the map.
We can give somebody the blueprint.
But they still got to walk that path.
So, people ask for the blueprint often.
But not often do people follow it.
And this is what I've seen in our business
and outside of the businesses.
Why is that the case?
That people want the blueprint.
But when you give them the blueprint,
they don't really want to follow the real blueprint.
When you lay out what it takes,
people are going to ignore it.
And so I think the reason is,
a lot of people are asking for the blueprint,
but they're really asking for the cheat code.
And the cheat code is doing the work that's on the blueprint.
Because nobody else does it.
That is the cheat code.
And so, couple of examples to this I'll give you.
You know, is we had a young man in our organization
that this year made up...
We're almost $4 million.
I think he's in his 50th year.
And, you know, he was posting out there.
He said, well, you know,
this is my advice on how to make a million dollars
or millions of dollars, you know, a year this year.
And obviously, everybody would want to watch that.
Right?
And so, basically, what he told everybody is work seven days a week,
take minimal time off, work from 9 a.m. or works earlier than 9 a.m.
Basically, work before everybody else starts working,
and make sure you keep working after everybody else starts working.
And then all your family is going to tell you that you're crazy,
and that it's not going to happen for you.
And your friends are going to tell you that you changed.
And then, at the end of 12 months,
you're not going to be as far along as you thought that you were going to be.
And then you do it again for another year.
And you're going to get further,
but you're not going to be as far along as you thought that you were going to be.
And so, do it again the third year.
And keep rinse and repeating until you make over a million dollars.
And that was the answer.
And that is like the truth, right?
But nobody wants to hear that stuff.
Now, if I gave you a guarantee though,
if I said, look, I guarantee you,
if you work seven days a week,
you could get a pass six times a year to not do that.
But seven days a week, six times a year, not do that.
For three years straight,
and at the end of three years,
automatic minimum, you're making a million dollars or more.
Guaranteed, would you do it?
Some people would not.
That's fine, I respect it.
But the people that said, yeah,
only thing in your way is just doing it.
Tricking your mind.
Because people can give you the damn blueprint.
You got to execute.
The second one is I was spending some time with somebody that I like
and that I'm close to and I know for the holidays.
And they're, I don't know if they were asking for advice.
Yeah, they were asking for advice.
And so they got a different business.
They're in a different business than they were three years ago.
And not old at all, but not in their 20s.
And had some family stuff and kids.
And so they're asking me, what would you do,
and telling me about the first year.
And I said, look, here's what I would do.
Here's what I learned.
Is that all you got to do in most things is go find somebody
up one to three people is the assignment that has what you want to have
in your business and go out there and talk to them and ask them
exactly what they would do.
Ask the right questions.
And if you don't understand, ask follow-ups questions
until you have complete clarity.
What they would do for the phase that you're in in your business
and get their advice right it now, circle the things that you don't want to do
that they gave you to do and make sure you do those things first.
Because those are the things in the blueprint that people don't execute
and that's why they don't get the results.
Because most people don't even ask the people that have what they want.
Then there's an even smaller group that listens to what the people
that they asked told them to do.
And then there's an even smaller group from there that does the things
on that list that they're like, I don't want to do this one,
this one sucks, I do anything but not this one.
Those are the ones typically that take you to the next level.
So the question is, you know, a lot of times I feel like people are asking like,
how do I get the success without all that hard work?
You don't.
Wanting your results or success without your grind to go out there and get it,
that's called entitlement.
And man, I hope you don't have to deal with people like that.
I've had to deal with people like this and they're the worst.
Because they feel entitled to the result.
But they don't want to put in the work.
And so when they don't get the result that they want to get,
that they see other people getting, they're all upset and negative
because they think that they should get that result.
But they're not doing everything in the process to do the work.
And so those are the toughest.
Like it's not the people that don't want it.
Like I got respect for people that don't want it.
Like I got some people that I know that if they had enough money to pay their bills,
save some money on the side, go on vacation once in a while,
be home every day at five, be there for their family, they're happy, they're good.
I don't knock them.
I don't, what makes them right and me wrong or vice versa,
what makes them wrong and me right because I want this or I want that
or I don't feel that way or whatever.
Who knows who's right or wrong?
You know what I mean? I don't judge that person.
That person ain't the problem.
They keep it real, what they want.
It's the person that says that they want it all
and feels like they should have it all,
but they're not willing to work extra.
They're not willing to do the things that they don't want to do.
Those are the ones that get dangerous.
There was a quote, I mean, you've been listening any amount of time.
You know how much I like Nick Saban as a coach.
He had a quote that said,
you get up every day and you're entitled to nothing.
Nobody owes you nothing.
So nothing is acceptable but you're best.
And so there's a whole video that he does on nothing.
Basically nobody owes you nothing.
Nobody's going to give you nothing.
We just got to realize we got to go out there and give our best
and we got to go out there and pay the price.
People want success without the accountability.
People want success also without sacrifice.
And they want what you have.
But they don't want to give up nothing.
The bigger the thing that you want,
you got to be in realization that the bigger the sacrifice
you're going to have to give.
Successful people confront problems
and just go hit them head on.
Unsuccessful people avoid problems.
And the more you avoid problems, the more the problem compounds.
And if you could just take ownership of yourself,
your actions of things and jump on them,
those are the things that solve your problem.
And the private work that you do when no one else sees you,
that's what leads to the public results.
People don't see the grind.
People don't see the sacrifices.
People don't, this is what frustrates me.
I mean, I never get, like, I used to drive a Rolls Royce.
And I love this car.
It's my second favorite car I've ever had.
My first favorite car got to be the brand new escalator.
I mean, I'm just happy all the way around with the escalator.
But this convertible Rolls Royce I had,
it was all black, blue interior, royal blue, strong, masculine,
you know, to me, but still nice.
And convertible, you know, when the sun was out,
it was just beautiful.
Man, I've never had so much hate
than when I got that Rolls Royce.
Just seemed like I had more hate.
It seemed on the road, even,
more people beeping at your horns and giving you the finger,
and all this stuff is like, man,
those people are so mad that you're successful,
but what they don't see
is the grind and everything that went into buying this damn car.
And I don't give a shit about this car.
You could take this car and run it off the bridge
if you want a few that mad about it.
I don't care about the car.
I just, it's cool.
And it's fun.
I like it, but I ain't tripping over the material things that bad.
You know what I mean?
It's no big, I don't think I'm better than anybody else
because I'm driving in it.
I just like it.
Just like I don't think you're worse than anybody else
because your car ain't sweet.
I don't judge.
People do your thing.
You know what I mean?
I don't pull those people over and say,
you lazy piece of shit, you should be doing more to get a new,
you know, not like, I don't judge the people.
Because what they don't know is the same guy
that they're beeping the honk on the horn at,
and if flicking a finger at,
first of all, it's the same person at nine out of ten times
and probably I could get out and do something to him
that they wouldn't expect.
But is the same person
that grew up in a car that was a hand me down, Chavette
for a thousand dollars that would run out of,
like gas when we had a full gas tank just didn't work.
Just hit the gas 100 times, hit the ignition, hit the key
a bunch of times until the starch stalls out,
you know, all the time, rust all over it.
Like they missed that part.
They missed the sacrifices.
They missed the long nights.
They missed the travel.
They miss giving up parties.
They miss giving up birthdays.
They miss giving up,
they miss all the things that we had to do to give up,
all the pain that we had to do to get to where we're at.
And what people got to understand is that your private work
that you do is what shows out eventually in public results.
But most people miss the grind.
And so that's why people don't understand sometimes
what it takes or they hate sometimes
because they don't understand what it takes.
You got to protect your vision.
Not everybody deserves access to you
because people will try to pull you down,
but not everybody deserves access to everything
in your playbook either.
I want to see some effort.
I want to see some attitude.
I want to see some small stuff before we'll give you pieces
of the blueprint.
Let me see what you do with the beginning phases of the blueprint.
When you're building a team, we got to build a team.
You don't even need the most talented people.
You just need to build a team of people that are willing
to do the work consistently long enough.
If they got decent talent, they got some solid talent
and they're willing to do the work sooner or later,
you're going to have some success in business.
Execution is the great separator of everything though.
Ideas are cheap.
Everybody got idea.
I got an idea.
I got an idea.
Yeah, you ain't got no grind though.
Action is what's expensive.
Sacrifices is what's expensive.
I can't tolerate.
It's difficult for me to handle.
Inaction.
Laziness.
Losing is okay.
I mean, that's part of winning is you've got to go through losing.
It's something to learn from.
But losing because of your laziness is unacceptable.
I mean, I never see people.
They want success for someone else more than they want it for themselves.
And, you know, I understand like, all right, that's great
as a really nice person.
Like, I want you to see more than I want it for myself.
But I'm talking about like, people will sit there and clap and cheer
for their favorite football team in plan around their game
when you're watching people make millions of dollars that already
they're there because they made so many sacrifices and put in so much work
for so many years and overcame so many obstacles that they're there
being paid for what it is that we're cheering for them.
You got to want it that bad for your damn self.
You got to want it as bad for yourself as you want it for the Steelers.
You got to want it as bad for yourself as you want it for the 49ers.
You got to want it as bad for yourself as you want it for the Ohio State Buckeye.
You got to want it that bad yourself.
Because at the end of the day, me and you both, we got to realize
someone could give us the roadmap.
It's up to us to walk that path in the same thing.
We could give somebody else the roadmap.
It's up to them to walk that path.
Let's just control ourselves and make sure that right now we're pouring into people
that are willing to walk that path and not just get the blueprint
and try to shortcut the blueprint.
work with those people and then you yourself be somebody that's asking for the blueprint.
You got to ask for the blueprint if you could find people that got the blueprint but make
sure you're the person to execute and separate yourself from everybody else because execution
is something that is very rare, almost as rare as loyalty.
Speaking of loyalty man, we appreciate you as always.
You could have spent your time today doing anything else.
You spent the last 15, 16 minutes with us.
If it helped you, don't be afraid, do us a favor, hit the share button share, let other
people know about it and let's see if we can impact them and we're so grateful as always
for you joining us on another episode of the Grand Cascade.
Get ready, it's a new day.
