Today I'd like to talk to you about unlocking your potential.
In your faith journey, I think I've seen people who can often get just complacent or just
content where things are and not really think about, God, what are you doing?
What can you just bring me up a level to really bring glory to your name, to bring glory
to what you're doing here on the earth.
And I want to encourage everyone who has fallen into faith.
I want you to think about what is the potential inside of you that God wants to unlock.
I know there's times in our lives, I'm not sure you can think of it where someone
looked at you, saw potential and called you higher.
And that feels great when someone can see beyond your flaws, your shortcomings, your timidity
about situations and really say, you know, I think there's so much in you and I'm going
to invest in you because I believe in you.
And God does that with us so much and I think there could be believers who live below that
and say, well, I'm just happy God saved me.
I'm just happy to have relations with him.
I'll go to church.
I'll do you.
I'll serve.
And they kind of like to leave it there.
But I think there's so much more as you walk alonger and longer than he wants to pull
out of you.
And I want to talk about just different ways you couldn't unlock.
Maybe your potential God has in you some discipline, some things that you can put a practice
in your life because I think if you're faith, just remain something you kind of do throughout
the week and not become a part of your lifestyle, you'll never reach the full potential that
maybe God has for you.
And so my first thought is I think you have to embrace growth through learning.
You can hear people preach.
You can listen to sermons, watch videos, podcasts, all those kind of things.
But until you say, I want to embrace growth through learning.
So I can unlock my full potential.
It's one of the ways that we just grow even if we feel like it's review.
First chapter 1 verse 5 says, let the wise listen, add to their learning and let the
discerning get guidance.
Listen, when we are listening and adding to our learning, we are discerning and getting
the guidance that we need for everyday life.
We don't have to be quick to speak and just let people know our opinions.
But we can sit back and say, let me just take in a moment, maybe God's going to speak
something to you different in the situation that maybe he's not speaking to someone else.
We feel like we just have to add to the conversation or we need to add to whatever is going
on.
But really stop and pause and say, God, what are you speaking to me in this moment?
Because I want to learn before I speak.
I want to educate myself what's going on versus just rely on past experiences.
You know, a great leadership truth is that learning is a lifelong journey.
As life gets more complicated, when you lean into the, when life gets more complicated,
you often lean to the faces and spaces that you feel most comfortable with.
We just like, well, I'm going to go back to this situation or I'm going to go back
to this person.
They're not going to challenge me, like this person is challenging me, or I'm going to
stay in this space and never go beyond it because there's challenges that are outside
of those things.
But I want to encourage that God is with you in all those different scenarios and all
the different spaces, but He's relying on you to step out in, faith and do that.
So don't ever just be in the place of comfort or what you're familiar with.
The two most common ways of thinking I've seen people embrace growth is to always be open.
To do ideas, new perspectives and knowledge.
When we actively seek to learn and grow, become wise, we're more effective in our leadership
roles.
So whatever God has for you, be open to what someone's sharing, an idea, maybe you've
done before, maybe they have a new twist on it.
Don't be quick to shut things down.
Don't be quick to cut people off.
Just by while I'm in charge and I know, be open.
I think the second one I've seen people embrace growth and on the roots, unlocking their
potential is lean into difficulties.
When you are facing difficult situations, right, you take it to prayer, but also examine
your heart, why is this a difficult for me?
Don't shy away from those, but lean into difficulties.
Figure out God will be gracious in helping you in some of those scenarios that you find
yourself in.
So listen, embrace growth through learning.
The second thing is lead with humility and servanthood.
Now we talk about this a lot, many times in church spaces, but it cannot be overstated.
You know, Matthew 20 to 20, verse 26 to 28, you heard me say, you heard a lot of people
say, I've just, that who must be the great among you must become your servant.
And that's something that is so true.
You want to be revered and just respected amongst your peers or people that you're leading.
I mean, serve.
Be a person who could serve others, all right?
True leadership is about power authority is about serving others and putting their knees
before your own.
Leadership is really just about taking on more responsibility.
So when you become a leader, you're not going to say, well, I'm going to make sure I get
mine and hopefully everyone gets theirs.
But I think as you are growing in your leadership and your growing different spaces, you're
able to reach back and say, how can I help you?
How can I empower you and help you accomplish all that God has for you and unlocking your
potential on the other side?
And so just remember that when you want to grow in your leadership, it's going to come
with a lot more responsibility.
Lead into mobility, I think, has three, these three pillars within it.
Lead by example, you serve with compassion and you empower those around you to succeed
and it's through your mobility that we earn the respect and loyalty of those that we lead.
So those three pillars, again, are leading by example, serving with compassion and powering
those around us to succeed.
That's a great, three great pillars for you to grow as you lead others.
And I think as you begin to grow in your leadership and unlock potential side of you and people
who are going to invest trust into you, you have to realize you will only move this quickly
as people trust you.
If people feel like they can't know your motives or if you're being for real or if you're
working something else behind their back, they're going to have a hard time trusting
you, which is going to be a hard time moving progress forward and unlocking potential within
yourself and others.
And I would say the third thing is unlock your potential as a seek and develop relationships
based on trust and integrity.
This is a big one.
So Proverbs chapter 11 verse 3 says, the integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful
are destroyed by their duplicity.
Meaning the people who are having multiple faces around different people, well in this
circle, in this person, in this circle, in this person, where I'm in front of people
in this person, behind seeing them, in this person, you won't be the same person wherever
or someone finds you.
You don't want people to feel like you're this chameleon or they have to try and figure
you out.
Have relationships based on trust and integrity.
Do you trust the people who are around you?
Are the people around you, do they have integrity?
Can people trust you?
Do you have integrity?
The trust and integrity are cornerstones, they're strong leadership.
It'll leadership, you ought to have a small circle because everyone understands the way
you carry.
Leadership, if you're just running with people, people will just, you want to hear it say,
yes, or affirm you.
You are not a leader, you're just looking for people just to affirm the parts of you that
are, she really filled my god, but you're filled by god, how this gives a Jew.
Because when you really say god, my life is yours, my heart's yours, and god uses
of people you aren't getting this place of jealousness because you're like god, I know
you got me as much as you got that person.
So who around you can you trust?
Who around you has integrity?
Do you want to have those relationships solid and defined around you?
You want to make sure you leave humility and servitude, and when I lock your potential,
you want to make sure you embrace growth through learning.
I pray for you that you listen to this video that you're really going to think about
your life, and are you living up to your full potential, your god gives a potential,
that he's putting things in your heart, and he's speaking things to you right now, that
you're watching this, or maybe the things he's been speaking to you.
Be open to what god wants to speak to you, and you'll be amazed at what he could do in
your life.
I appreciate you all, I'll see you next time.
