Count money, man.
Count money, man.
Stacked riches.
I'm trying to told him, I'm a beast, but...
What's up, gang?
Welcome back to another episode of The Grindcast.
Get ready.
It's a new day.
And what do you do when you feel overwhelmed or unfocused?
And...
So I think those are two different things, right?
So let's first start out with unfocused.
I think if you're unfocused, you have to go back to your why.
Your why is always your north star of why am I doing what I'm doing?
What's the reason that you want to do whatever it is that you're chasing, whatever you're
in pursuit of?
What's my mission?
What's the end goal?
What's my why?
And then it's discipline.
I think you get unfocused when you lose your why if you didn't lose the why then you
lost your discipline.
You're unfocused because you're distracted by this guy, this woman, this alcohol, this
drug, this shiny object that's promising short-term, easier this or more fun.
And you're getting off of keeping your eye on, well why am I doing it?
Why did I start doing this in the first place?
What do I want out of life?
What do I want out of my mission?
What do I want?
Defined.
Why do I want it?
Defined.
Am I applying discipline?
What is discipline?
Doing things that I don't feel like doing.
And then not doing things that I do feel like doing, that aren't good for me, that ain't
going to help me get to where I want to go.
Can I get myself to not do those things?
That's discipline.
There's something I don't feel like doing.
Can I get myself to do those things?
Anyways, that's discipline.
So I think if you got the what do I want, the why do I want it?
And then I apply the discipline, that's what you do if you feel yourself getting unfocused.
And then the last thing I'll throw into there is stop hanging around.
You only get unfocused when you're hanging around people that are unfocused.
Get your ass around winners.
Get around people that are chasing the same thing you're chasing, the same type of things
that you're chasing.
Those people are focused, those people are driven.
Get around those people.
Get around the people that are where you want to go.
That is going to help you.
And then when you feel overwhelmed, I'm going to give you two things.
Couple things.
One is remember that 20% of the things that you do bring you 80% of the results.
So when you got all these things that you need to do, make sure that you don't drop the
ball on the top 20% that you need to do, that bring you 80% of the results.
That if you're going to drop the ball at all, because there's only so much you can do,
drop the ball on the 80% of things that you do that only bring you 20% of the results.
Right?
So if I'm going to drop the ball, man, I can't do it all, I'm overwhelmed.
Okay, well, I'm going to drop the ball over here if I have to.
I'm going to do the best I can with this 80% that's only going to give me to 20%.
I still need to do the 80 that brings me to 20.
We need to 20.
But if I'm going to drop any balls, it got to be in that category.
I'm not going to drop any balls with the 20% that brings me 80%.
And so if you're feeling overwhelmed, first identify in my life, in my business,
in this thing that I'm trying to be great at, what are the things that bring me the biggest results?
What are the people?
What are the things that I could put in the 20% category?
These are the most important things, the most important people, the most important,
this little bit right here, if I can only pick one or two things that brings us the biggest
results that we could point to.
It's these things don't drop any balls on those.
And then I'm going to switch gears and say when you're feeling overwhelmed, I recommend
that you slow yourself down and pray and talk to God that you don't have to carry that burden
on your own.
You can give it to the Lord and let him help you carry that burden.
Remember, breath work to calm yourself.
I mean I've been through some super extreme times and I'm giving you the blueprint, breath
work, box breathing, which is inhale for four seconds, hold your breath for four seconds,
exhale for four seconds, hold your breath for four seconds.
Exhale for four seconds, like a box, right?
Like that.
Do that for like 15 to 20 or I like to do the Wim Hof.
You can look it up.
W-I-M-H-O-F, Wim Hof Method Breathing.
You could just put it in the internet.
Wim Hof, Google it, Wim Hof Method, Guided Wim, I think it comes up under Guided Wim
Hof and then it'll guide you through what to do and the better you get at it, the more
you'll be able to challenge yourself.
But it's like 11 minutes takes me a little longer, but 11 minutes, that will help.
I like to do breath work and then follow that by prayer, putting me into this Zen state
and mind-body spirit, right?
I'm overwhelmed, I'm focusing on my top 20% not dropping any balls there, but you got
to take care of yourself when you're overwhelmed.
I think people get overwhelmed when they don't give it to God, they internalize it and they're
putting all their energy into their job or all their energy into their mission and not
enough energy into themself where it's mind-body spirit.
So every day before you start your day when I get overwhelmed, I'm listening to motivation,
either while I'm working out or before I start working out, I YouTube and I look up motivation
and I listen to things that are going to speak life into me and fire me up.
There's so much power in this.
Try it.
Okay, then the B, MBS, body, exercise, nutrition and sleep.
If you're overwhelmed, your body is handling more stress.
You got to try to find a way to get yourself seven to eight hours of sleep consistently.
And I've been in positions where it was hard to sleep because I was so overwhelmed, but
there's ways, healthy ways that will still give you good scores on your oral rank.
I'm not talking, saying, drink your face off to finally go to sleep.
There's things that will still give you good scores on your oral rank that you could do
that will help you sleep.
Everybody find their own version of it, but you got to sleep.
You got to exercise.
The exercise is proven scientific facts that it brings your stress levels down.
It helps you to relieve stress in healthy ways because if you don't, in your overwhelmed,
you're only going to take it out on things that are toxic for you.
People, places and things that are not good for you unless you do what's good for you.
So pushing yourself, like in the gym, push yourself a little bit.
I'm not even saying you got to turn into a limpant weightlifter.
Pushing yourself can be doing cardio a little bit longer.
You could be walking and push yourself instead of doing two miles, do three, but push yourself
physically and then spiritually prayer, reading the word, listening to worship, music,
trying to get into the house of God every week, every other week, the MBS, prayer, breath
work, all that stuff, I think will help you when you're overwhelmed.
Staying focused on the mission.
Speaking, that's what it all goes back to my body spirit because it's listening to positive
things that are going to encourage you.
Sleeping well because I feel like people get more overwhelmed when they're rushing because
they didn't get enough sleep.
They're in bed late so they got to wake up at this time to make this thing or this meeting or whatever.
So now instead of waking up and taking care of themselves and taking time for themselves,
they wake up and it's like, the New York Stock Exchange just went off.
I got to hurry up, let the dog out.
I got to hurry up and go to the bathroom.
I got to hurry up and brush my teeth.
I got to hurry up and get in the car.
I got to hurry up and brush.
I got to make it through this light.
I got to hurry and that brings you more stress and overwhelming versus getting yourself up
earlier so you can take your time so you're not adding to this overwhelming stress that never stops
because you get out in front of that day.
So for me, I know I need to wake up three hours before I need to be present starting ready to
rock that day.
So if I got a nine o'clock, I need to be up by six for sure.
If I got an eight o'clock, I need to be up by five.
If I'm going to properly take care of myself in the morning and not rush and stress myself.
And still be able to breathe a little bit.
Pray a little bit.
Work out a little bit.
Shower, shave, get dressed.
Listen to some right music.
Check an email.
Answer a text.
Think about what I want this meeting to be like.
And boom, come out versus the meetings at eight.
I'm up at seven.
No exercise.
No breath work.
Maybe quick prayer.
Hurry up and get out the door.
I forgot this.
Do that.
Run out.
That's that's where already starting out.
Stress out.
So I think if you can apply early to bed early to rise makes one healthy, wealthy and wise.
Understand and when you're when you're not focused that it's probably going back to your why,
your discipline, people you're hanging around.
And when you're overwhelmed,
locking in with the Lord.
Breathe in.
It all comes back to it's all my body spirit mentally, physically, spiritually take care of yourself
and slow the game down and watch what happens.
All right.
As always, we're grateful for you.
If you guys don't mind, if you got any value out of this at all,
can you take time out and share it with somebody else for us, please?
And then you guys know we appreciate.
Thank you.
As always, thank you for joining us on another episode of the grind cast.
Get ready.
It's a new day.
We'll see you next week.
