Hey, one, this is Nitor Teez and you are listening to Walking in Power and I want to talk
about following instructions.
Sometimes, we feel like following instructions is pretty simple.
It's a concept that you either read instructions or you can tell someone the instructions of
how to do something, but there's always something that gets lost in interpretation.
Maybe you've experienced this yourself, maybe you've been the one that's been receiving
the instruction that has been super clear, or maybe you've been given to get the instructions.
But sometimes there's something that gets lost or misunderstood.
And I think in our faith, there's times where we can feel like we have directions from
God and we are instructions from God and we move that direction, but then we feel
like something's off or maybe we miss something.
You know, I love how people can look at the word Bible and say, it stands for basic
instructions before leaving Earth.
You know, basic sometimes it feels like, oh yeah, I get certain aspects and other things
to be more difficult to wrap our brains around.
But here's what I want to challenge you with.
I think there's so many people in this life that walk through their day-to-day activities
or situations or struggles and they don't really think about who they should run to.
They'll go to friends who maybe aren't going to encourage them in the faith sense of
things or maybe just be someone just talk to them about just feeding your authority on
the fire or they'll go to someone else who will bring great, great head knowledge or experience
to a situation.
But I think there's also an element of God.
What are you speaking to me as an individual about the situation?
You know, I say it many times, but anytime I go through something, I often think about God.
What is it that you want me to see?
And so for everyone watching this or listening to this, what are the things in your life
that God, the Creator, the one who made everything is working out.
There's this moment where you have to come to yourself and say, you know what?
I can't accomplish everything on my own.
I don't have all the answers.
There's people around me, God's place around me to ask the questions too.
But then there's the element of, all right, how do I figure this out?
How do I, you know, just not kind of form my own type of faith or just put a little bit
of this, a little bit of this, but say Lord, where's your word?
Say, how did you walk this out?
Because we have to be the type of people who are able to follow the instructions all the
way through.
And one of my great challenges is putting together IKEA furniture.
There's a period of time where as first married, you know, was youth pass out of local
church where we're putting all the IKEA furniture together.
Like I was like a pro with it.
But there was elements where I first started out and making sure what, okay, is this piece
go here?
I had turned upside down and I thought it was good.
So I got further down the road.
You have to be, we have to be people that were able to follow instructions and the times
where we do mess up.
We can't be afraid to go back and flip in the book and say, man, where did I go wrong?
Where did I put this screw in or how did I put some backwards?
Listen, our life, everyone's life is different.
Some are more complicated.
Some are, they feel like it's easy to the outside.
But like anything in life, you have to choose your heart.
You know, going through difficult situations is hard.
But also living a disciplined life that's honored to God is also hard.
And we want to be in this place of saying, not that I always see the easiest road, but
we bring, that we choose the road that brings the most honor to God that people who are
around us can see, man, we're seeing God work in your life in ways that we've just never
seen before, or ways that people have never gone about it.
Be that type of person that when you follow instructions, follow it all the way.
Don't do it half-heartedly.
Don't do it reluctantly, but follow it and take the time to do it right.
So I encourage you, wherever you are, go to the Bible.
Talk to people around you, you could pour life into you and bring a life to the Scriptures.
But you can also learn how to follow instructions for yourself.
And not only you get it, but then you can teach those around you.
Hey, be blessed and have a great day.
