Transcript
Count money, man.
Money, man.
Stacked riches.
I'm trying to told him I'm a beast, but...
What's up, gang?
Welcome back to another episode of The Grindcast.
Get ready.
It's a new day and we're going to start right out with...we got a special guest and I got
a special challenge of trying to pronounce this last name but here we go.
Ready?
Tommy, pro, cop of itch.
Yeah, that's it.
Huh?
Not that bad.
Okay, pro cop of itch.
My dude is the executive.
One of the executive coaches at the Elliott Group.
You're saying?
The Elliott Group.
So those of you guys that don't know Andy Elliott, the probably top sales trainer and
influencer in the country, maybe the world.
And so you're one of the top guys over there, one of the right-hand men for Andy Elliott
and all of what you guys do.
Yeah, sure.
But let's rewind the tape a little bit and tell everybody, you know, a little bit about
yourself and how you came into who you are today.
I number one.
I appreciate you having me here.
I appreciate you being here, man.
It's been a person.
And person.
All the way from Arizona.
Yep.
It's a blessing and I definitely want to start off with, you know, I probably shouldn't
even be alive, you know.
I shouldn't be here, you know, kind of starting off and my whole life has been radically
changed in the last three years by meeting this man, right?
And I feel like God puts men or women or a person in your life to number one build your
relationship with him.
But more importantly, for you to get back on the path.
And for a very long time, I wasn't on the path.
You know, I was living my life just like everyone else seeking comfort, whatever made me
feel good.
If I felt like doing it, I would do it.
If I didn't feel like doing it, I wouldn't do it.
And I was just living a very below level of life.
Just getting by, you know, came from a lack mindset.
Now, it was born in Venezuela.
Came here.
You have that in common.
Yes, we do.
We're both in Venezuela.
Half Venezuela.
That's a gatherer.
We're whole Venezuela.
There we go.
That's it.
And so born in Venezuela, it came when I was two years old to the states.
I moved to South Florida.
At that time, we had moved to Hollywood, Florida.
And I lived there for about 29 years of my life.
But growing up, you know, I came here on a visa to the states.
How were you?
Two and a half, two and a half years old.
Okay.
So moved to the states.
And then when I was living out there, growing up, didn't come from money, you know, kind
of very similar background to you.
Like, it was just always hard.
If I ripped my pants, I wasn't getting new pants.
It's like, my mom would sew it.
My mom was really good at sewing.
Whatever she could fix, so she wouldn't have to spend money on things, that was the game,
right?
So it's like, we had to take care of our things, right?
Like, we had to be very appreciative when, like, you know, full stock fridge of food,
whatever want to cereal and like food, and whatever we needed at that moment.
You know, but it's well, lots of Arrepas too, so we ate lots of Arrepas in our household.
But you know, it was always like the conversations, like you could just hear in the tension, everything,
like, no money.
We can't do this.
Oh, can I get some money for this?
I can't right now.
Like, it was just the way we were living, right?
We lived in a small little home in Hollywood.
It wasn't that big.
I think we lived in a duplex, actually.
And I just remember, like, always wanting more, you know?
And it's like, as you start figuring out, like, why does that person have that?
Why do they have that?
Like, why don't I?
Like, mom, dad, like, what's going on?
Like, you don't understand this as a kid, right?
And it's not like they would sit me down like, hey, listen, like, we're an immigrant family
that came to this country because we wanted to give you a better opportunity at life.
That wasn't really explained to me.
I had to kind of figure that out.
So we came out here in Avisa, and it expired.
Because then I lived illegally for about 20 years.
20 years.
20 years, isn't illegal.
I was just like, I'm an immigrant.
And the whole time, in fear, my mom, like, making sure she didn't get in a car accident
because if she didn't, cops would come, right?
So we always had to be super careful, hyper aware always of our surroundings, being
careful who we talk to, being careful that I didn't get in trouble.
I remember this one time, man, and it's just like, God bless my mom because I did put her
through a lot, you know, trying to figure things out.
And I was the oldest of three, right?
My two sisters, and I have an older brother from my dad's side.
We just started building a really good relationship.
But growing up, which is me, my two sisters, two younger sisters, and I had to protect them
and watch over how to be the man of the house.
My parents split when I was 10 years old.
So I didn't really have a foundation of like, what is a great marriage?
What is it like to be a good husband or a great man, a great father that kept the household
together?
And God bless my dad, like my dad did what he could at the time that he could.
And I love my dad, like me and him have a really good relationship.
But growing up, we didn't, like we got into a few fights.
And then your parents kind of turn on each other, well be careful what your dad says.
Your mom said this.
Right.
And it was just like this constant thing, you know what I mean?
And when they split at 10 years old, I started going through like these things where I,
like I was always outside trying to play man, hun, and tag, and basketball trying to play
sports.
Like me playing football, my majority of my life.
Football was the sport that I kind of turned to.
And I remember the biggest scare that I had at that moment when I was a kid, I was like
12 years old or 11 years old.
And we had a bunch of fireworks and we put it on this golf cart that ended up going into
a fire and they called the cops and I thought I was going to get deported.
And that's like when I felt that fear.
So I felt the same fear as my parents.
Like you might be sent out of the country like you can't do these things, right?
And then from then on, like I always wanted to do it.
I always had like this constant fear.
I had really good grades in school, killed it.
You know, I just did what I needed to do.
I was really good at math.
Wasn't the best I reading because I Spanish was my first language and I was learning Spanish
in English at the same time.
But I knew I wanted to, I wanted to impress somebody, right?
Like I was stuck in this cycle where I was seeking approval from others.
Like I wanted to feel good about me, right?
Because the whole time the country's telling me I'm an alien, I'm an immigrant.
So I felt less than a lot of people.
I didn't feel like I was a whole human being, right?
That had rights in this country.
And I felt like that in middle school, right?
At a very early age, like when you should be feeling confident in yourself and everything
and it's not like my mom is like, you are great.
Like you could do these things.
Like don't worry about that.
Like you're going to get these things through.
Like it was always fear based.
Like black mindset.
Be careful who you talk to.
Don't do this.
You're going to get sent here.
Because it's always living in fear.
And I went through high school.
High school was kind of crazy for me because I was just like, really I was an athlete.
I was in football.
I went through a grocery store going into summer, into sophomore year.
And I was a really good athlete.
And during that period of time, I started getting myself lost in girls, right?
So women.
Women that were older than me.
And I was just like pursuing that and then drinking and then doing drugs.
And it was mainly party stuff or whatever.
But then like I got introduced to something very early at the age of 17.
I got introduced to painkillers because during my area in like South Florida, during like
Davey.
So I mean, we're talking about back in 2005 when they called it the pill mill where people
with doctor shop, they'll have the same script and they'll keep getting the same like quantity
from different doctors and they flush the streets in South Florida.
He's like the opiate epidemic, right?
During that time.
And for some reason, like I didn't really fall, I didn't even know what a witch all was.
I remember the exact moment I knew I was addicted.
But it didn't come to that until I had a graduate high school.
Graduate high school or 4.25 GPA at two scholarships because I had really good grades to go to
college.
One was Florida Atlantic University, the other ones UCF.
Was it UCF?
Central for us.
Yeah, yeah.
So Central Florida, so the Orlando College.
So I had two scholarships there.
And I couldn't take them.
I couldn't take them.
I needed a driver's license which I didn't have.
I was 18.
I was 18.
I was still a legal immigrant.
Yeah.
I had to, I didn't have a social.
So you needed a social and a driver's license to attend college.
You didn't need those things in high school.
You could just sign up your kid, right?
And this is where it happened.
The devil saw a moment in time.
And I always tell people the devil's an idle time.
The moment you're left with all this time, you don't know what to do.
And you feel like your life is stuck, you're going to try to fill that void with something
else.
And then I had a really bad breakup with this one girl who was older than me, broke my heart.
And when she broke my heart, it just said, I don't want to feel this anymore.
I know exactly what to do to completely block this feeling out.
And I did that.
And I just kept using painkillers for a very long time.
And at that moment by the age of 19, I was fully dependent.
I remember stopping one day after doing it for like three months straight, going upstairs.
I'm like, oh, I'm not going to do it today or whatever.
I'm going to stop.
And I didn't buy anymore.
And I remember waking up with a puddle of sweat all right here in my chest.
And I'm like, what is this?
Like, I was like confused.
Like, why is my body reacting this way?
Right.
And that's when I knew I'm like, oh, okay, this is bad.
Like this is when they say like addiction, right?
And I started learning about that.
And then realistically, for the next 16 years of my life, I was abusing drugs.
It was just like my identity.
My identity was now, I can't get a job which I was always picking up jobs to work under
the table.
I couldn't do certain things.
And I just defaulted to like what my life, which was the lie.
I believe the lie.
I believe my lie that I wasn't worthy that this was the life that I had.
And, you know, some people get this life and some people get this life, right?
And I made that decision for myself, which was a really stupid decision.
And I didn't really, I grew up Catholic, but God wasn't really talked about my household.
It wasn't like, hey, you know, there's a God out there that sent his one and only son
to die for me and you like, you are forgiven for your sins.
Like, you have forgiveness.
Like you forgive me for everything.
If you believe in him, you shall not perish but have eternal life.
Like, you know, the common things that you hear about Jesus and God.
And none of that was talked about.
So I didn't have, I didn't know what faith was.
I didn't have a relationship with God.
I didn't understand.
We're addicted for how long?
Sixteen.
Sixteen years of abusing.
So what was the turning point?
The turning point was, I mean, the statistics on that after that long are very low, right?
That's something changes.
So how do you change that?
So what ended up happening was, when did you move out of Florida?
So I got my conditional residency when I was 21 years old.
Got that.
Got a driver's license.
Got a car.
Pain killers became really expensive.
So I started shooting up heroin, right?
And then after I started shooting up heroin, fentanyl hit the streets during like 2014, 2013,
2014, fentanyl started hitting the streets.
And then I had my first overdose, woke up in a puddle my own jewel or the bruise on
my face.
I could share it with you.
The pictures too.
You could see that.
Then I had another one where I overdose on, and woke up next to my bathroom, tore up my
dog lick in my face, my dog Romeo, my 12 year old dog.
And then after that, I had another overdose where I woke up in 2018 on a stretcher at a hospital.
No idea how I got there.
It was just there.
And it's my whole family's there.
It's like, dude, like you're killing yourself.
Like you need to get your life together.
And during this entire time of me relapsing, I was a chronic relapser.
All these overdoses were happening.
And I still had two more overdoses that were coming.
Crazy.
After that, that I was still what you were consider a functioning drug addict.
I had a sales out of travel industry where I was doing decent, right?
This is back when I was 19 years old, making 600 to like 1500 bucks a week, which was a lot
of money for me then.
Then I worked for like Carnival Cruise Lines.
Old Caribbean, like phone sales as a vacation planner using as well.
If anyone see this right now, they would know that I wasn't, I was lying the whole time.
I was always wearing a mask to protect myself, but I couldn't stop.
And then the vacation industry went away like COVID hit 2020.
I left Royal Caribbean because you couldn't sell cruises anymore.
And I got a job at Car Sales.
In my first month, I made $600.
And I sucked at Car Sales.
It was a different type of sell being in front of them.
I have to manage their state and I have to close them in person, right?
And I was going online like, okay, how do I get better at sales?
And I'm still fully addicted to drugs.
And at that time, me, my wife, I met in 2018 as well.
So I forgot to mention that me, her met, slid into her DMs.
She replied back to me.
And at that time, was kind of going through a period of time where I wasn't abusing drugs.
I was taking this thing called Cratem, just like this herbal thing you get at gas stations.
But it kind of helps with withdrawal symptoms.
But you're still dependent.
So I was with her for those couple of years.
She had no idea it was abusing drugs.
She didn't find out till later in 2020.
Like a couple of years.
Yeah, like three years in.
Yeah.
And I, so during this time, I'm at home.
I burned through all my savings because of COVID hit.
I got a job at Car Sales because Sierra is like, honey, what are we going to do with money?
Like we need money, right?
Where our rent was like 2400 a month.
We were living in a nice house in Hollywood.
Like I was having my life kind of stable for the most part.
And then I'm like, okay, how do I get better at Car Sales?
And there was a video popped up of Andy Elliott.
And that video was like, hey, if you want to become better, you can become better.
Like you don't have to, like your past is not your future.
You can change.
I changed.
And all you got to do is dot, dot, dot, dot.
And you start listing all these different things and you start speaking to me.
I'm like, man, I really like the way this guy is speaking right now.
Like I want to be better.
I don't want to be a drug addict anymore, right?
So then when I head in, I reach out to the number.
So I'm going to reach out to me as company about a program and so forth.
And that program that I bought for 300 bucks in a seminar ticket for $1,000.
The very next month, I made $17,500.
The most money I ever made in a month.
Then quickly I made a hundred K and less than five and a half months.
Selling cars, became the number one salesman there.
They did very well.
But then leading up into the year after I came back from the event.
I had went to rehab too.
That didn't work.
Went to the event with Andy Elliott shortly from getting out of rehab.
And I told him, like, yeah, I'm battling drugs.
This and that.
He's like, hey, fix yourself.
Do this because I offered him.
I asked him, like, what do I need to do to work in your company once I met them, him and
his wife?
Do this, this, this, this and this.
And I'll hire you.
But get yourself straight first.
Like you have something in you.
I see potential in you that you can become great.
You just haven't had the right guidance.
You need a good leader.
You need good people around you.
And you just, you've been all alone trying to figure this out.
But let us help you but stick to this plan.
So he had offered me a job to move to Arizona on January of 2022.
And I would have a job at the LU group.
But then I had my last overdose.
I had one in October of 2021.
We're Sierra Femmey on the bathroom floor.
What a need on my arm.
And that's where she found everything out.
She had no idea what that was.
She found me as a pretzel in between the tub and the toilet,
that little space and some of these half bathrooms.
And she pulled me out, pulled the needle on my arm,
gave me CPR and brought me back to life.
That was very, very difficult.
And during that time, I felt a lot of shame and guilt.
Didn't want to reach out to Andy.
I stopped talking to him.
Fast forward.
That was in October of 2021.
Now it's January.
It's February of 2022.
I miss my opportunity at the LU group.
I tell C.M. I start having visions or dreams,
whatever you want to come, of seeing the mountains of Arizona.
I was just seeing in my, and I felt like at that time,
looking back, I know it was God leading me.
Then you're going to see how God's hand was all over this part
of my life on me getting clean.
So then I told her, you know what?
Let's just pack our things.
It's like, what do you mean?
Let's just pack all of our stuff.
If I stay here, I'm going to die.
I can't stop using, I'm still abusing drugs.
I need to leave Florida.
All my past memories, all that, all the people
used to contact, it's just way too deep.
I need to get away from this and just be really far away.
My gletch is moved to Arizona.
We had $5,000 per name, 5K.
We just packed all of our stuff in a Corolla
in a 5 by 8 trailer.
We told 1,500 pounds with two cats, a dog,
and a snake in the box out of snake at the time.
And her in a Corolla.
And we're towing 1,500 pounds in a trailer.
I couldn't drive past 60 the whole way.
So it took us 55 hours.
And usually that ride, if you went on stop,
it's a 33 hour drive.
So we're from the southeast to the southwest.
And I tell people, the risk of me staying the same
was far greater than maybe this might work out for me.
Right, right.
Just maybe.
No doubt.
So I moved to Arizona and shortly after,
ended up relapsing Arizona too, because I moved
into one of the craziest areas that you
can think of, right.
A lot of drugs, prostitution on the street.
We didn't know that.
But there was a big pivotal moment that changed everything.
Sears flying back to Florida.
We needed some money.
We got stabilized in Arizona for the first month.
We're coming low on money.
She's doing a quick bartending job,
where she's going to make four grand that weekend.
And out of all the plane flights out of all the times,
any, the moments throughout the year,
the earliest flight of Florida once a year.
And the two people sitting next to her on the plane
ended up being Andy and Jackie.
And then Andy was like, hey, he knew who's here
was because he was better.
And he's like, where's Tommy?
He's like, we're living here now.
He's like, is he getting off drugs?
He's still working on it.
But yes, he's on his way.
We've gone the way, right.
And at that time, she didn't tell me like, he just
relapsed.
She's like, yeah, he's clean.
He's doing better.
And he knows all this too.
And he's like, tell Tommy to stop being scared of me
and tell him I want to see him.
I want him to meet me at this church called Impact Church.
So we went met him.
And then he gave me a task that gave me a vision.
He gave me a path.
And he's like, Tommy, first all your two skin
that was weighing 145 pounds at the time, gain 20 pounds
of muscle, become the number one salesman at the store,
and stay clean for a year.
If you do that, I'll hire you.
I'll give you an opportunity again.
So I said, OK.
Shortly after I got started in this dealership,
as big to your dealership in Phoenix,
I got put on methadone, which is a very hardcore medication.
I had to go medical.
I couldn't break the obsession.
Did that broke the obsession of using September of 2022?
Became the number one salesman by that October.
So it was like the third or fourth month in this company
out of 120 salespeople.
I became number one.
And then I gained 38 pounds of muscle that year, just like
went in on myself.
And on my development, studying, training.
And I was still investing in Andy's programs.
I had spent with him like 16 grand that year,
just learning, buying everything that he had.
And I was seeing the return, like the more money
I spent on myself, and the more time that I dedicated.
Seeing your money, you were making more money.
And then a year goes by, I get hired in the company.
And what was crazy, that right people?
When was that?
September of 2023.
So I'm already like a year into my recovery.
And having abused drug, I'm still
dependent on this other medication, which I'm taking.
I have to go and check in every morning
that they gave it to me.
It was a hassle.
So that was your rock bottom that pushed you.
I'm either going to die here, or this
is going to cause me to push and change.
And you got up and left and moved Arizona.
Crazy.
On the plane with Andy.
Oh, and I forgot to mention.
You execute all those tasks.
You get hired in 2023.
And also, when Andy told me to meet him at that church,
I found my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ
December 24th of 2022 when I got baptized.
And I had an encounter with Christ, and I gave my life to Jesus.
And that solidified everything.
The moment I let Jesus into my life, it's like the Holy Spirit
is not activated within you.
And you start getting convicted.
Oh, I shouldn't have said that.
Oh, I shouldn't do that.
I don't want to do this anymore.
And that's where like the, like he says, you know,
that once he begins a good work in you,
he'll be faithful to complete it.
And he began that good work in me.
From a very, like probably years ago,
I mean, all my friends over those one time, I did five, bro.
Yeah, shouldn't be there.
No.
Yeah, you shouldn't get that many.
No.
I believe that life.
No, he don't.
Right?
Sometimes it's one time, two times.
What were the things that you think?
So maybe somebody out there is listening,
and they know someone that's in this exact situation right now.
What do you think were the steps for you?
You know, I'm like, all right, do this, this, this, this,
and this.
If I had to coach somebody out of this stuff now,
going back to where I was at, here's what I would change,
here's what I would do.
These are the maybe three to five things.
I would say, you know, you hear this in recovery, people, places,
and things, right?
Like just get away from the same people, the same place
and the same things that are keeping you stuck
and addicted to drugs.
Get far away from you.
So a possible move.
Move.
Get out of there.
And make sure that you move into an area
where you have a good accountability group
that the normality is far from that.
That if you do that, they'll look at you like,
get around, get around the people you want to emulate,
and be like.
And also people don't understand, too.
Like, hey, I'm in recovery.
Please, like, I'm letting you know,
everyone needs to know about your current situation.
And I felt like me putting myself out there
and being very vulnerable with my story,
a game-y-level accountability, like, okay,
like you've gone to a state like, I can't mess up.
Right.
I can't just go and start using a bunch of drugs right now,
being a leader at the other group.
It's just, I can't.
What do you think it was about Andy's message
that connected with you so well?
So, and there was a few things, right?
There was a few things.
It was my...
It's just seeing how everything that he talked about
as far as being a man.
Ultimately, what we want as men is to be great men, right?
Like, I want to be a great dad.
I want to be a great husband.
I want to be someone who has a strong mindset
that I know when to say no.
And I'm not easily influenced by others.
I want to be in great shape.
Like, I want to be able to speak inspiration
and just be a leading example.
And Andy fit all that.
He's an incredible shape.
The way him and his wife, what made me super loyal
when I joined this company, I believe this was October
or November of 2023, only a month, two months
into his company, is when I saw the way him
and his wife interact with each other.
Remember my family spent when I was 10 years old.
So to see them in their mid-40s, kissing,
love me, sure, like they're 20 years old
and how he talks about his wife.
Like, Andy is like, I won't go anywhere.
If Andy was being booked to go to an event to speak,
and he's like, all right, I'm bringing my wife,
no, no, you can't.
And he's actually turned people down.
He's like, all right, then I'm not going.
Yeah, no doubt.
It's like she's, she comes everywhere with me
and she's that important to me, right?
So when I saw that level of like care
and attentiveness and awareness
when it came to his wife, to his family,
to creating like a brotherhood
and being that level leader, it really like sold it for me.
So if you could look back to where, you know,
you talked about making $600 a week, $1,500,
you know, at times to start to make
100,000 over those five months.
What do you think changed?
It really just came down to an identity.
And I speak about this.
So just your personal self.
Yes, it's just your personal self
because really, like I talked to you a little bit earlier,
we talk about in our, you know,
in our company, the three keys to success for us
is like attitude, effort, intensity.
But if you really think about attitude, okay,
if I have to have a good attitude
because I believe I'm going to become something great,
so I'm going to continue having a good attitude, right?
Like I am shaping myself to be that person.
Like even though something happened,
I should have a good attitude.
It's not going to feed the person that I want to become,
so I'm going to have a good attitude.
If I want to be a specific person in life,
like if I'm focusing on this future of who I want to become,
well, then I need, I know I need to give high effort.
Without effort, I won't become that person.
And then to me, I feel like you have to be intense in a way,
right? Like some people are like,
well, hey, Tommy, we're all going to hear this and that.
I'm like, hey, man, I love you, bro, but I'm saying inside.
What do you mean?
Come on, bro, let's go out for a drink.
No, no, no, man, like I'm like working on someone right now.
I'd rather like have the mind to like wake up in the morning,
spend time with God, go to the gym, do all these things,
and maybe develop myself to become better.
It's like, bro, you're being weird.
Like you're being so intense.
I'm like, I am intense.
My dreams matter, right?
So you should be intense about certain things
if you want to become something great,
because if not, how are you even going to get there?
And it's like the person that changes the fastest
is going to win, right?
It's like winning to us is like a camera.
So how do I change?
Right?
So if it's the person that changes, the fastest is going to win.
And there's someone that wants to change.
It's other than just do it.
Like how do you change?
So a lot of people play the edition game.
I need to do this, I need to do this, I need to do this.
Like these are my goals, goals, goals.
These are my to-do lists.
What about your not-to-do list?
What about the things you shouldn't be doing?
What about the people you need to be eliminating?
Or maybe like, hey, I love you, but I'm going to go through a season
right now.
Yeah, not to-do list.
That's facts, fire.
And I feel like if you focus on the things
that you shouldn't be doing, they're keeping you stuck,
you'll have more progression than doing the things
to help you elevate.
And that's what I do.
And this is what I do.
Subtraction.
Subtraction game.
A lot of people play the edition game,
but then they forget about the subtraction game.
So it sounds like to me, you think proximity is critical.
It's getting around.
Proximity.
People that you want to be like,
we're in a virtual game, right?
In our business, right?
Virtual sales.
And I was telling him, I was my first area was East Cleveland
in sales.
He'll tell you about East Cleveland.
I was like, that's the hood right there.
Bone.
You old enough for bone, right?
Bone thugs in harmony.
East Cleveland.
And that's where they put me in my first two months.
And I look at my change in evolution,
and it happened from getting around different people.
I moved out of where I was from, moved to a different area,
signed a 12-month lease before I ever made one sale with no
backup plan.
I had no idea.
In my mind, I never even thought about not working out.
I just like, this is going to work one way or the other,
and signed a 12-month lease.
And I know getting around that environment changed my life,
and saying to what you're saying.
And now we're in this virtual world, we can hire people
all over the country, which has been a blessing.
And they don't have to drive to East Cleveland.
Nothing against East Cleveland.
But they don't have to drive to any appointments
to meet with people.
We used to meet with people in their homes.
I drive all over the state of Ohio all day.
But I also think that can be a double-edged sort,
because to work with us in the past, if they wanted to work with us,
they had to be near where I'm at because this is our area.
This is where we would have meetings.
Everybody would be together.
And now people are a little bit spread out,
but we have pockets of people.
And I'm always telling the people, if you want my advice,
I think you should go get around the fire.
Go get around the juice.
Bein' around that energy.
And I think sometimes people underestimate that.
They underestimate how big of a difference
it'll make in their life to be around the right people.
And see, you talked about seeing with your eyes changed it.
So it could have been something that you heard
is something you had to witness, and feel, and be in that energy,
be in that atmosphere to see Andy and his wife,
and you know what I mean, and all that stuff.
Those are things you ain't going to get over, right?
So I think the message out of that, you know,
for people listening is like, if you have the opportunity,
and it's almost difficult to say, if you have the opportunity,
because you got to create the opportunity.
You know, you're listening to somebody talking about,
they had 5,000 to their name, moved to Arizona,
with 1,500 pounds, is that what it was in the back?
You were dragging?
And it got over 60 miles an hour, 55 hours, you know,
you just make it happen, right?
So if you got 5 grand, if you got to do first months,
last months, you know, rent.
That's literally where it was.
You're done, but you're done, so.
First last month was 2,500 bucks, and then we had 2,500 dollars
to figure it out.
We had no jobs.
Yeah.
I moved there for the other group, but they didn't know I moved there.
Yeah.
You know, I just knew that I had to get close.
Yes.
I mean, these people are living at a level that I want to,
so I had to get close to them.
I just got to get around it.
I just got to get around it.
What a game-changing, life-changing decision,
and how many people get stuck on.
I can't.
I don't know.
I'm going to wait.
I can't afford it on a main where you stepped out.
Well, there's faith like that.
Well, there's always two types of people, right?
There's the two types of people that says, you know what?
I don't even have a lot of money.
I'm still battling drug addiction.
I don't know what my life's going to look like.
I don't know where I'm going to go.
I can't so I won't.
And then there's a second type of person.
It's like, I'm addicted to drugs.
I know if I stay here, I'm probably going to die.
I only have 5 grand, but at least I have 5 grand.
When I move over there, I could figure it out.
So far, everything in my life,
things kind of figure itself out anyways.
So how can I become resourceful or not
and make this happen no matter what?
No matter what.
And you know, you were talking about something
that was very pivotal earlier, and it was listening to you
here in the office.
And you were talking about perspective.
And it's like, the way you see the world, right?
So when you start, and this is something I learned from Andy,
when you change the way you see things,
the things that you see begin to change.
But how can you do that if you're still in the same environment
around the same people?
That's why proximity is so important.
You got to get around, if you are the biggest person
in the room, the smartest person in the room,
you're in the wrong room.
You need to be around people that are elevating themselves
to a level tour.
You like, man, I agree with that.
Okay, I see that.
There's another level to this.
Like I am playing small.
The thing is like being around Andy,
like Andy's always has this chip on his shoulder
that he has to become better every second.
Like he has to grow every single day.
Like that's just his thing.
If he's not getting better, if he's not pushing himself,
then he feels like he's not,
he gets enjoyment fulfillment in the progression, right?
In the journey of becoming the man.
I think most people do.
They just don't do it.
So that's why so many people are not fulfilled.
They don't get that feeling.
You know, now you're coaching all,
you're coaching people that are doing millions of dollars
in revenue.
As you've seen all different types of people in business,
what would you say stands out about the best sales people?
You know that you've seen
and maybe some of the best leaders that you say.
The biggest thing that stands out for them
when number one, they have to be confident.
But a lot of them just have a really big identity.
You'll notice too, like while I'm coaching people,
let's say if I'm coaching them in sales.
Let's say they're selling a high ticket item
or they're around people and they're company
that are making millions of dollars.
Like an hour company.
Like when I made my first semifigures in the company,
like I grew, when I first made my first 100K
in the company, my identity, like I allowed myself to act
and perform according to what my identity was,
which dictated my behavior on what I needed to be like
in order to get there, right?
And I feel like.
Confidence in a healthy ego.
Yeah, healthy ego, confidence.
But then you talked about it too,
like having a good depth of vision,
who are you listening to as well?
But really just focusing on who you want to become.
Like you have to actively sell yourself on this dream
or the person like, okay, who am I in the future?
What would I look like?
What would I talk like?
What type of life am I going to be living?
Because that's going to dictate what I do today
in order to become that person.
And I talk to a lot of people,
and especially even in our company, right?
Like we got a lot of guys in our company, women too.
And there's certain people that could do what I do.
That can go and close a half a million dollar deal,
150, $250,000 deal, like whatever the case is,
but someone can't even talk that language yet.
They don't believe in themselves enough or confident enough
or they don't have the identity to be able to put himself there.
Like do you believe what you do
could actually help someone or offers or products
can help people?
Then you want to start working on that.
So I see a lot of people that you'll see someone
who's a top performer inside of a company,
but then other people are like,
oh, I can never become that.
So now you are basically dictating your own identity.
They don't have the belief.
No belief of who they currently are.
Yep.
It falls down to identity, your perspective,
and your belief.
Those three things.
If you see someone that really believes in themselves,
they have a good perspective in life.
If they know they're having a really bad week,
because I know at least I'm not going to have two bad weeks.
Another person's like, oh man, I'm so happy.
My month is over, and then they let off the gas
because they don't think that they're going to do what they do.
Or they have a really big month.
And then the very next one's like, oh, I did it, okay.
What was that feeding your identity?
What do you think feel?
What have you witnessed?
And be honest, there's nothing I'm trying to extract
from this is coming.
The question is, what about the people
that you see that are successful in business?
They're doing X amount of millions of dollars in production.
But maybe they're not focused on their fitness.
They're not focused on their faith on their health.
They're not reading or trying to take in more things
to grow themselves personally.
But they're having success in business.
What's your experience with that?
What are your thoughts on that?
That's a really good question.
I'm glad you actually asked that because in our company,
on top of us doing sales and leadership,
we have our own programs and offers.
I do a lot of private consulting where I go into companies
and help them with their systems, find their leaks
or their holes in their business to make them better,
make them more efficient.
Our most transformative program that I feel like
he owes the highest results and personal life business
everything is like our brotherhood.
Having a good brotherhood of like an inner circle of people
where they can have close proximity in order to change.
But a lot of these guys make all this money in the world.
They're in their pictures.
They're never home.
They don't have the relationship with their kids.
They don't have the relationship with the wives.
It's falling apart.
They don't have a relationship with God,
which makes them feel empty.
So in a way, yes, I have achieved success,
but I'm not feeling fulfilled.
I don't feel like I have purpose.
I've lost my edge, especially when you don't work out
and you're making all this money,
you're burning yourself out to the ground for money.
And the thing is, if I gave you $50 million,
I'm like, you can't wake up in a week
and you're gonna lose your kids and your whole family.
But you're gonna get 50 million right now.
Would you take it?
No.
No.
So that means if you're gonna die,
then that means you wanna live a long, happy, healthy life
with the people you love.
That's right.
So your health should be important.
Taking care of your family values.
The people closest to you,
like that should be a really big part,
which is like, literally our message
for our entire company.
Our message in our company is you can have it all.
You can have the physique.
You can have a relationship with God.
You can be a great husband.
You can be a great father, mother, whatever.
Like you can have it all.
And you don't have to sacrifice the money.
And actually, I've noticed when I've
took in my fitness way more serious,
when I was more intentional with my wife, Sierra,
taking her on on dates and doing things for her,
I started becoming more of a man's,
which made me feel very proud of me,
which also fed into my identity,
which also gave me more confidence
and more belief in myself.
So it was a full life circle of me being right.
Right.
So what do you think most companies
that you see are getting wrong?
The ones that you help to grow?
What does the low hanging fruit you're like then?
First two, three things I see typically a lot.
Culture.
Culture.
Leadership.
The leaders aren't leading by example.
They're burnt out.
I look at you and I'm like, walk into a room.
I'm like, who's the leader in here?
Can't tell.
I can't tell.
I walk into you when I came to you,
when we did your charity event in October last year,
I knew you were the leader.
You wanna know how?
When I walked in,
it's how everyone was engaging with you.
They were circling you.
You were someone who was in shape,
the way you were speaking,
and it's like how you were caring yourself.
I'm like, oh yeah, that's the leader.
Like you can see, but sometimes,
and because you also have the respect of your peers
and of your people,
because what you're doing for their life,
you're not a man that's just helping people get money.
You're a man that's changing people's lives.
There's a difference.
You're changing on the way they think.
They're changing them on their spirituality,
on being an example on how your physique should be like.
You're a great father, a great husband.
I see how you take all your kids.
All that should embody what a great leader
supposed to be like,
which leads you to be a great man.
Now, when you walk into these places,
they're seeking one thing.
Performance, let's try to make money, money, money, money, money,
and they look at everyone as a number,
but they don't look at them as a human being.
And when you start looking at your team
as like, listen man, I care about you and I believe in you.
Right now, look, this is completely my fault,
but I completely dropped the ball.
I haven't been a good leader,
and I actually tell company leaders,
hey, we're gonna have to start off with an apology,
if we're gonna change things in your company.
Why?
You're gonna start telling them to do all these things
and you haven't been living this way, now you're a fraud.
They're not gonna believe in you.
So I tell them, you're gonna have to start with an apology.
You're gonna be like, guys, first off, I wanna say I'm sorry.
I've let you guys down.
I fell into the illusion
and I tell them to say this for being a,
I fell into the illusion of wanting to just make money.
And I thought if we just focus on selling and money
and all this stuff and numbers and metrics,
like that was the way to be, but we let our health go.
We don't have any spiritual connection with God,
like it's not really talked about,
which I think it should be talked about in the workplace.
There's no culture, there's no team gatherings
where we can build and bond and know that we have camaraderie,
we have a good circle of people that we get to push each other.
There's no court values, what do we stand for as a company?
Is it like doing the right thing, leading by example,
love, belief, what is it, what is the standard in here?
Because a lot of companies live with no standard
and there's just no good leadership structure.
There's like for me to be led by someone,
I gotta look at you and be like,
do I wanna be like that guy?
Yeah, right.
Is there something about him that I really like?
Because if no, I'm not gonna listen to you.
It's just, it's a thing that's been instilled in me
just being with Andy, because Andy's that way too.
So when I saw this man who's like 5% body, 5% great husband,
nice house, all these different things,
successful doing nine figures a year,
built this incredible company.
He always came down to the foundation.
Every single time I talk to Andy,
he never talks to me about money.
Tommy, how's your fitness?
How are you treating Sierra?
Remember, you're about to have a kid.
I just had my baby 30 days ago.
And we haven't had these conversations,
but the conversation, hey, remember you're about to have a baby?
Make sure that you're doing good.
Make sure you're spending time with God, right?
Make sure that you make everything comfortable for Sierra.
This is gonna be a really big moment for you guys.
It was always about my relationship with my wife and my fitness
and really how am I doing mentally?
It's all me and him talked about
and him managing that part of me
made me more successful inside of his company.
So developing the people, the culture,
becoming a part of that culture
is developing the people within the business,
not just developing the business, right?
And developing and pouring into those.
100%.
And I think there should be also like a standard of fitness and health.
You know, some companies don't like to talk about it
because then that's gonna put the leaders
in a position where they have to, right?
Get up early, go to the gym.
I created this waiver and it was kind of like a commitments.
Like this is what I'm declaring.
These are my commitments every week.
I had everyone sign this at the last company
that what time they're gonna be at the office
and they're gonna commit to three to five days a week
in the gym, minimum.
And I'm gonna send them a workout plan.
I'll build it out for you.
I'll tell you exactly what to do.
But you're gonna do this
because if I can get them feeling good about themselves,
proud of who they are in the mirror
and they get to see a change in themselves,
then that change is gonna spark more momentum
in their lives where they wanna do better.
And it's like, what do you feel, you know, right now,
you're focused on building over the next few years.
What do you see, which a vision?
Man, for myself.
I wanna continue being a great guy.
I got a little one, you know, keep leaning.
We're not speaking on that, right?
So you were somewhere before you came to Pittsburgh, right?
So that was probably a couple days.
Yeah, you're here.
So you've been on the road for a few days, what a...
Yeah, it's like my fifth day.
New born baby on the road for five days, right?
And those are the sacrifices, right?
That people don't see sometimes
when you go to the next level.
And it really says a lot about your spouse, you know,
about having the right person
because you can't be on that mission, you know,
and it's not that it's bad or good.
Everybody's different what it takes
to make another person happy, right?
So, you know, I had a mentor say one time
when I was asking him about how did he manage, you know,
his team, cause they had to work on weekends.
It was part of just what, in that business,
there's no way to not work on weekends.
It was professional sports, that's what they do, you know what I mean?
And so I was talking through like,
well, how do you manage, you know,
some of them getting the support, the time,
you know, in a mean an SNAT,
and this guy was happily married,
been with the same woman forever, had a family, you know,
to hold a good person, solid person.
And he's like, man, to be honest,
you gotta have the right person.
And in this case, it was all men
that were coaching this sport, right?
And so, he said, you know, you gotta have the right woman
to support this job, because that's what the job entails.
So, if it don't work,
and that, you know, that person can't handle the weekends,
you know, in a meaner whatever during the season,
either you got the wrong job,
or you got the wrong wife.
And I don't know which one it is.
You may have the wrong job in the right person.
You just gotta do something else that fits your life better, you know?
But I know for you to do what you're doing, you know,
right now, and to be able to do that,
that automatically, you know, tells me
that you got a super supportive.
Oh yeah, super supportive.
And what's pretty cool too is like,
I really, before I came on here,
so I'm booking her a spa for tomorrow.
She has no idea.
I know this podcast, I'm gonna come out right away.
No, she won't get it.
That's how she gets to tomorrow.
I'm like, hey, babe, is there any baby appointments or anything?
She's like, no, I'm like, oh, okay, cool.
So I'm booking her a half day spa.
So I'm gonna wear the thing that she wears to have the baby.
We have all the breast milk to when she pumps,
so I could feed her, you know, the warmer and everything.
I've been changing diapers since.
I didn't let her change a diaper for about
the first week and a half when the baby was born, right?
And so yeah, she's gonna have a full spa day tomorrow.
Would it be sure a great man,
just to make her listen to this.
You know, I don't think,
she didn't let me change a diaper for a week and a half.
Really?
It was like, don't get near the baby with that diaper.
Let me see, you don't have it backwards.
I actually learned like the day of,
I learned how to swallow baby very quickly.
I just wanted to, you know,
because I knew she was gonna be spending more time.
I am the person that drives all the income in the company.
She don't work now.
She helps me with a few assistant things,
but I take care of her.
I just bought her a brand new SUV.
We call it her push present.
No, that's a good push present.
It was a nice little push present.
Got her a nice luxury SUV, so she's happy with that.
And I just wanna make sure I'm taking care of her
because she took care of me for a very long time, you know,
without her I'd be dead.
Talk about Rod her die.
And she's a very strong woman.
And she's a woman of God, which is, you know,
God is like, I do have to say like, the Lord is with me.
The Lord is with me.
He's guiding my steps and I'm just following his path.
And I'm just grateful.
So you've gained a lot of ground in the short period of time.
Right? And you look young, right?
For putting a lot of miles, you know what I'm saying?
That sounds like a lot of miles to me.
You know what I mean?
And you look great and you're healthy.
I think, you know, what would you tell someone
listening that wants to make a change
that they feel behind in life, right?
So you're 35 years old, right?
Major change has happened in your 30s, right?
And so a lot of people I think get to that point
and they start feeling like, man, I'm so far behind.
Like, I'm just not even gonna try.
Andy Elliott at the age of 39,
he decided to change his life.
And then within five years,
he built a nine figure company.
Like, and he was someone who was out of shape.
He wasn't your husband.
He was in the pictures.
He was never home.
His wife has said, I learn to live without you.
Like, what makes me happy?
He's not having a purse full of money
and you're just a financial father.
Imagine your wife telling you that.
And she grabbed his love hand on,
and says, look how comfortable you're getting.
He said he felt spiders call up his back
and he decided to shave his head.
And he's like, he went to a gym for four hours
and listen to David Goggins
and he thought that changed everything.
But that was the birth or the seed that was planted
for Andy Elliott, because his real name is Andrew, right?
So it's like, you have to develop like this.
God bless his wife.
That's what's up.
You need a strong woman in your life.
And then grab my love handles, man.
We're going straight from, I don't know what you think
I am right now by the fact.
10, 11, 12, or even.
I think you're like about 10, 11.
That what if she grabbed my love handles, bro?
We're going straight to seven or eight right now.
Yeah.
Straight up.
I love it.
But to finish answering that question,
you have to develop an alter ego.
Look at Kobe Bryant, like Mamba, right?
Look at him and I'm slim shady, right?
Like you see Beyonce, Sasha Fears.
Like everyone has an alter ego when they need to turn on
and become.
So for a very long time, I wasn't known as Tommy.
I was known as Thomas.
But when I moved to Arizona, I'm like,
I'm going to change my name.
I'm going to be Tommy because I'm going to be a different person.
And you have to make a decision.
Do you want to keep living this way?
Yes or no?
If the answer's no, do the complete opposite
what you're currently doing.
Well, and it's so simple, it's like,
okay, this is what it when it does,
this is what a loser does, all right?
If you don't want to do it.
You change your life fast.
Fast, right?
And the three years, five years.
I mean, within three years, I'm like from the moment
I moved in 2022, I mean, man, no, I'm sorry.
From when I started training with Andy,
but from when I moved in 2022,
to I would say 2024,
I became the top person in Andy's company
in about a year and a half.
I mean, no, and about a year and a half.
Yeah, very, very quickly.
I mean, I had my first hundred came month,
six months into the company and broke a company record.
I was the fastest person to do a hundred came commission
as a brand new person.
I just was going so fast and building myself
and understanding and putting in the time
I was studying and learning.
So there is going to be some level of application,
but you have to look at yourself and then me
and be like, I am sick and tired of being sick and tired.
I don't want to be this way anymore.
I don't want to feel like a loser.
I want to be the type of person
that when they wake up in the morning, I have this psych.
And you know what it's like, right?
When you wake up in the morning, it's hard, right?
And eventually the heart becomes easy.
You wake up tired, but it's not like,
oh my God, I have to get up.
Like there's always that point to start picking up momentum,
right?
If things have been a little idling
and been a little bit slow,
but you just have to take massive freaking action
and just look at yourself in the mirror.
And if you're not proud of the person
that you see good, that means you have work to do
and fall in love with the progression of it
because when you begin to progress,
the momentum starts to hit.
You start becoming a person that influenced you.
I wasn't even a good speaker.
I spoke on 11 stages last year.
I was scared of speaking in front of a group of people.
To the point I started baptizing people.
I baptized like 76 people.
In the last six months, it's a crazy thing.
How God is like moving.
Like I'm not asking for that,
but he says in the great commission,
make disciples of many nations
of baptizing the name of the Father
and Son and the Holy Spirit.
And it's just what's been happening.
Outside of our sild and leadership events,
baptizing people because we'll do an alter call
or something.
Like we're very big in our faith, right?
But it's because Jesus has been changing our life so much.
And it's like more people like,
if you were in a place where now that you were stuck,
you need to find someone that you can model your life after.
You know, that's what proximity is so important.
And build a relationship with the Lord.
I'm telling you, if you surrender
and you just give it out to him,
you're gonna see how your life starts to change.
But the thing is we're so stubborn
and we think that we have to do it all ourselves.
But no, we have someone.
We have a Savior that's there and he loves you.
And man, your life will, it just begins to unfold
if you just accept it, right?
And it's, it sounds simple.
It's a lot more difficult because you have to let go so much.
But you just have to look at yourself
whether you're a drug addict,
whether you're addicted to pornography,
whether you're addicted to gambling,
whether you've been cheating on your wife,
whatever the case is,
if there's something inside of you saying
I should not be living this way,
you get decided right now,
I'm not gonna do it anymore.
It's actually that simple.
I'm gonna make a decision of living right.
Somebody sitting out there and they're like,
man, it ain't that simple.
But it is saying that that's what I wanted.
I was a person that was addicted for,
I would say 18 years if we include the point of me being on methadone
because getting off that was,
I didn't sleep for six weeks,
like maybe an hour a day.
Imagine what happens.
Terrible.
Sleeping for six weeks.
Terrible.
What do you think your mind says?
I had to rebuild my entire mindset.
While being a coach, a top performing coach
at the other group,
my revenue went down a little bit
but then it spiked back up, right?
And it's like you have to,
you're gonna be faced with these challenges in your life
that you're gonna have to overcome
and become it.
Like stop chasing the dollar.
Stop chasing the women.
Stop chasing the money.
Chase the man.
If you chase the man that you wanna become
or if you chase the woman that you wanna become,
you start like, okay, so if I wanna speak this way,
I need to start training on how to speak better.
If I wanna start thinking this way
then I need to start, like I told you,
like if you wanna have a good output
and good things in your life,
all right, what are you taking in?
Like who are you listening to?
How are you being a gay keeper to your mind?
Who are the people that you're letting into your life
that are speaking negativity
and like these limiting beliefs
that you're bestowing upon your life?
Cause God says that you have a calling
and that you have a purpose
before he even knew you're in the womb,
he knew you and he had a hope in the future for you, right?
And the thing is,
God, when he begins his good work on you,
so before he created Simon, he's like this.
All right, I'm gonna create a person named Simon.
Let me look at Simon's end,
cause I can see his beginning.
Let's just see what's gonna end like, right?
We're talking about the God of eternity.
He's not constrained by time or space.
So before he even began his good work on you,
before he created Simon, before you were even the womb,
he's like, let me see what his end would look like.
He's like, that's a man I wanna create.
That's a man filled with purpose and with a calling
and I'm gonna create him
and he's gonna be wonderfully imperfect.
So he created Simon, created you.
Because he saw your end.
God doesn't create mistakes out there.
He creates people that are gonna be living
a calling and a purpose on this earth
and everyone has a purpose on this earth.
And now it's just a matter of you.
So you talk about pouring into yourself, right?
Input, output.
How would somebody change a negative attitude?
You talked about attitude, effort and intensity, right?
Was those the three things?
Yeah.
So attitude.
They wanna be positive.
They know from their background, their family upbringing,
first voice that starts to come into their mind is negative
or they start speaking negativity, right?
Negative things.
How would you suggest somebody to break out of that?
I feel like it's really hard to have a bad attitude
when you're really, it's like the three simplistic things
that you can do in order to change.
Master your food, your sleep and your fitness.
To me, like if you're eating right,
if you're sleeping properly, if you're working out,
feel really, yeah.
And leaning into the Lord.
My body's spirit.
That's it.
If you're doing all those things and someone does something,
it's gonna be hard to have a bad attitude, right?
How, how?
Could you have a bad attitude with the morning we had?
No.
I started the morning with God, so did you.
Once in the gym heart, we ate some clean food.
We had good sleep.
Like if anything threw me out,
I'm like, oh man, he's just having a bad day.
You know, I'm just like, I'm feeling good though.
So it's like, it's just being, falling the base.
Even the food you eat can affect, right?
Sometimes people think they're having a bad attitude
or their energies down.
They think they're tired just because of how they're
feeling their body.
Well, right?
You could feel it.
If you're eating clean, eating the right things,
you feel the energy, right?
100%.
You know, we just had a salmon and salad.
I feel great.
If I ate a cheeseburger right now,
and I'm like sleepy or something, sluggish and someone like,
did something like, oh man, I could have probably reacted maybe.
I don't know.
But it's kind of really hard to get myself like,
riled up, like you have to do something that really pissed me off
for you to throw me off like my center or off my piece, right?
Like the most important thing for me in this world right now
is having peace.
Because for a very long time, I didn't have peace waking up every morning.
How do you have peace when you're on the push?
When you're pushing?
Grind it.
You know what I mean?
Like, hey, I want to break a record
or I'm setting a major goal
or I want to grow to a certain number, right?
So how do you have peace through that process?
So this might work for a lot of people
and maybe not, but for me as a trust in the Lord, man.
The Lord gives me peace, right?
It says in Proverbs 3, trust in the Lord.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
Oh really?
No, I didn't.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
Lean on your own, understand, and always acknowledge it.
And you will make your past straight.
Yes sir.
I feel like that's a great way for us to leave people off.
That's a gift.
Yeah.
That when you see that on the wall in my office,
Natalie, who you met, got me that and put it on the wall
because I went through, this was my,
so there's been three major adversities
that I've had in 20 years in business.
Three major ones, always adversity.
But three major ones where I'm looking at them like,
yeah, most people ain't coming back from that one.
Most people ain't surviving that one.
My first one that I had was I went to every day.
I will walk into the office by myself.
It's mid-20s.
I had nobody to lean on because I was the leader.
So I had nobody to vent as much to show weakness to me.
Yeah, you know, one people to think like,
oh look, like yeah, 100% I see that.
So I'm like in my office, I'm like crying.
And I'm opening the office door and I'm high-fiving people,
bringing energy.
And I'm like, how am I going to make it through this?
Because this ain't an overnight thing.
This is going to be a season, a battle, right?
And it was that scriptural that I found.
And I wrote it by hand and I put it on a blank piece of paper
and I put it on my keyboard.
Every day I would sit down and I would read that to myself
and talk to God and then put it back underneath
and then next day I would come back in,
start every single day, but pull that out.
Just keep telling myself, trust in the Lord,
trust in the Lord, trust in the Lord, trust in the Lord.
And Natalie knew that.
And so one day, boom, she surprised me, took my paper,
put the thing on the wall.
But that was my first major adversity.
My second major adversity came the Isaiah 54, 17.
They said that they didn't say that weapons wouldn't prosper,
right?
They said that they didn't say that weapons wouldn't form.
They said that they just wouldn't prosper.
No weapon formed against that show prosper.
And every time that rises against us
and should be condemned, this is the promise.
It's the service of the Lord.
Right, I raised my...
That was my second major adversity.
And then I got my third major adversity.
I didn't get anything tatted or put on the wall
from the third one, but I'm gonna have to tell you,
I told you a bit, some pieces of my third adversity,
but I'll tell you a little bit of background on that.
But I think wrapping this up, man,
I think you see how much we have in common.
You know, we started out in the beginning
of we have in common, we're both have Venezuela.
But I think towards the end, you guys see
that what we have in common, those that pay attention
to the ground cast, they know how much I heavily believe
in developing the person developing yourself first,
my body spirit is our whole deal.
And hopefully you guys see that in somebody else
that's in a whole different world,
not in what we do, coaches people all over the country
and is telling you the same values,
the same things that we preach and teach and talk about
are the same things that you could change your life with.
And so how would people follow you?
You know, if people are listening to this
and they're like, man, that's Simon's cool,
but I'm sick of hearing his voice, I wanna listen to Simon's.
So I have my YouTube and my Instagram, both of the same.
Thomas Proko, THO, M-A-S, P-R-O, CEO,
very public with my faith, my story, my background,
I'm like very vulnerable and transparent
because I wanna show people the journey
of what it took to become what I am now.
And I just wanna leave people with this,
that you can do it.
If I can do it, you can do it too.
I was lost, I believed the lie.
I believed I wasn't gonna live to the time.
I was, I thought I was gonna live just a 30 years old.
And I was conforming to that idea that that was okay.
And it's not okay, right?
Like you, and if you think that people are watching you,
or if you can inspire someone or motivate them, you are wrong.
You're wrong because you are a child of God.
You have it in you already.
It's like John, first John 4-4.
Grater see that is in me, then he that's in the world,
it's in you.
He said I'm gonna send you a helper,
and it'll be the Holy Spirit not to be with you,
but to be in you.
So you have it in you already to become whatever it is
that you wanna become.
It's gonna take a little bit of effort,
to have a great attitude.
You have to be sometimes a little bit
intense of the things that you wanna be.
You gotta be honest and accountable,
and all the great things that actually make someone great.
But like you said, to be grateful,
you go so gotta be, chase greatness, right?
You gotta be great before you're grateful.
So you can do it.
I know I did, it's gonna be,
but eventually the heart will become easy.
And all we want is just to feel fulfilled.
We want purpose in life.
You guys have an incredible company here.
Man, like the opportunities that you're creating
people's lives are crazy.
And if people don't take advantage of that
and be like, you know what,
I'm gonna get serious for a second.
I'm gonna stop listening to everyone else.
I'm gonna listen to people who have what I want,
who have been where I'm at
and they're where I wanna go.
Stop listening to people who don't have what you want.
Who are not where you are and where they wanna go.
And that's probably the easiest thing to follow
and just take massive action.
Hey man, some nuggets,
dropping some nuggets on this man.
We appreciate you man.
Thank you for coming out this way.
You could have easily been gone from home
and said I'm gonna take it in
and chose to stop in Pittsburgh.
And so I'm grateful to get some time with you
and spend the morning with you
and look forward to being with you
in a couple of months out in Arizona.
And it starts to get mutual free.
Over here, I'm gonna come.
It's gonna be nice over there.
Come visit you guys.
It's gonna be nice in November.
That's whether or not that time.
You guys get bored.
You're looking for something to do.
They can come hang out with us.
Yeah, they can.
Right in November.
And so guys, if this added any value to your life
or if you know anybody that this would add value
to their life, we don't ask for anything,
but for you to share this message
and share this with somebody else
that we can continue to impact the world with.
And I know that this message is gonna hit home
to a bunch of people.
I'm already thinking of people
that I can't wait to share your story
and your message with that it's gonna penetrate
some souls that even maybe I couldn't penetrate.
And so thank you for being open.
Thank you for your story.
Thank you for sharing time.
Appreciate you, my brother.
Yes, sir.
So, hey, thank you guys for listening
to another episode of the Grindcast.
Get ready as a new day.
We'll see you next week.
