Count money, man.
Money, man.
That gritch is fine.
I told you, I was trying to tell them I'm a beast, but...
What's up gang?
Welcome back to another episode of The Grindcast.
Get ready.
It's a new day.
Pay the price.
You got to pay to play.
We're either going to play now and pay later or pay now and play later in either way.
We got to pay.
And I'm telling you the best time to pay that price is right now.
It's never cheaper than it is right now.
If you're waiting for the timing to get better 10 years, five years from today, it's not
going to get any better.
If you're waiting for the price to be less than what it requires right now for you to accomplish
your goals and dreams, it's not going to get any cheaper.
The time is right now.
People stop growing when the price gets too high for them.
So when you're no longer willing to pay the price anymore is when you stop growing.
I know that's not what people want to hear.
They want to hear about this destination you get to and you no longer have to do anything
anymore.
But if you stop paying the price, you stop growing.
If you're putting time in to learn and your life is not changing, the chances are that
you're actually probably not applying what you've learned.
So if you're putting time into learning and developing, reading books, podcasts, asking
questions to your mentors, paying attention, all that, if you're learning those things
and you're not in growth mode, you're probably not executing and understand to grow, you
have to learn, find mentors.
But the biggest thing is you've got to implement these things.
And human nature as a person, the way we're wired as individuals is to be comfortable.
To grow, you have to force yourself to get out of your comfort zone.
To me personally, when people ask me, how does that start?
How do I develop mental toughness?
I think it starts to me with your workouts, with physical fitness because you're not going
to want to do the things that are going to get you in shape.
You've got to win the mental battle and get uncomfortable in your cardio, in your
workout routine, in your diet, and all of that is going to produce the growth in that
area of your life.
And when you start to learn to control those urges and have the discipline in that area,
it starts to unfold in other areas.
Human nature is going to try to keep you comfortable.
That's the way we're wired.
So you've got to understand, you've got to force yourself to get out of your comfort zone.
What things are in your comfort zone right now that is stopping you from growing?
What things are out of your comfort zone that you know, hey, these are two things I need
to do.
It's out of my comfort zones, not really my thing.
But it will probably produce me growth.
Let's do those things.
Because a huge part of paying the price when we talk about the price is failure.
Because people don't want to pay the price of failure anymore.
Because sometimes the go to the next level, you get uncomfortable.
You're not as good at it at first.
So you fail at it.
And that's the price that you have to pay.
Because try and just try.
How hard is that?
Just do it.
It's accepting failure and getting better at it that is out of people's comfort zone.
And so I think a lot of success is how you view failure.
And the only way to never fail is to never leave your driveway.
And going nowhere doesn't lead you to success.
But there's so many people not moving forward because they're afraid of failure.
You'll survive.
Decide what you want in life.
And then take a look at what it costs.
No different than looking at your grocery store or the clothes you want or the house you
want or the car that you want or whatever.
Take a look at whatever the things are that you want in life.
And then right next to it, what it's going to cost you.
And then you got to decide what you want.
And if you're willing to pay that price or not.
But you can't want a rose Royce and not expect to pay rose Royce prices.
You can't expect to have a mansion and not pay mansion prices.
You may get a little bit of money off.
But you got to be willing to put in that work.
Anybody could be good at something for a moment.
But we got to be good consistently put the work in consistently.
Growing yourself consistently in order to take it to the next level.
And so are we paying the price?
What is the price?
And here's what you got to block out.
Family members.
Friends.
Understand people are either helping you or they're hurting you.
Really, it's all about time.
If you look at people that have accomplished something in a 10 year period,
that's astronomical that it would normally take a generation 40 years to accomplish.
Really, what you're going to find is that they've probably worked 30 years worth of work.
And they fit it into a 10 year frame.
Before you see people in your area or lot of work in sports or in business.
And you say, man, in two years, this person accomplished what it's taken people 10 years to do.
Well, typically that person has put 10 years worth of work in a two year period.
They've worked so much, they've sacrificed so much, they've ignored so much, they didn't
go to those parties.
They didn't stay out that late.
They didn't eat that food.
They didn't do those things.
They didn't spend that money.
They invested it into their business instead.
They've continued to make these sacrifices and investments of time, of money, of things
and resources that it starts to expedite things.
Paying the price is going to cost you friends and family and things and people that don't
understand your grind and what it requires.
You're going to get pulled down.
You got to ask yourself, can I afford to go to the top and have so many people pulling
me down?
You got to stand up for your dream and explain to people like, if you love me, you'll just
stop speaking negativity to me and just support me on this dream.
If you really care about me, I understand your thought process, I understand you may not
agree with it.
I understand all that, but can you just root for me, cheer for me?
Hope I do well.
Love me and leave it at that because I'm a grown woman.
I'm a grown man.
I got to do what I got to do because most people that you talk to that have accomplished
something great can tell you a laundry list of people that told them they were wasting
their time or laughed at their dream or didn't believe in them.
If you let everybody else around you, family members, friends, people that have given up on
their dreams, tell you what you're doing is wrong.
You're never going to reach the levels that you're supposed to reach because all the
people that reach those levels have learned to block out the noise and have had people around
them not supporting their dream, telling them that they're crazy.
You know who won't tell you you're crazy is the people that have accomplished greatness.
That's why you got to listen to the right people because the right people have paid the
price and they know what the price is and they know what the price requires.
So they'll encourage you and they understand on that journey what it requires, what it takes
because it costs what it costs.
Wishing don't get it done, hoping don't get it done, luck usually don't get it done.
Nobody's really out here getting lucky.
It's the whole thing of it took me 10 years to be an overnight success.
It took me seven years to be an overnight success.
Is the people that you see getting the success overnight, it's not happening overnight.
It started long time ago.
That person that's 28 years old getting her hand raised, they won the world title.
They've been they've been fighting, training, wrestling, boxing.
They've been doing something on that journey since they were 11 years old.
So they've been doing it for 17 years straight all for that one moment all to see what has
happened in the last couple of years of their life.
But nobody saw them 15 years before that.
You don't just get to skip everything and go straight to the mountain top.
Typically on your journey, paying the price, you got to pay all the price in advance and
then you get it.
What does that mean?
I may have to put in the hours in the work for three years straight before I get the return
that I would like to have on that time that I put in.
I may have to do put in more hours, more work, not make more money, make the same amount
of money, maybe make a little bit less because I'm reinvesting into it to get the reward
three years later.
If you're doing the work consistently for three years, paying the price without an exact
return, immediate return to have a triple return, a double return.
Are you willing to do that or do you have to be paid every day for the service that you
put in every week for the service that you put in?
Because it's not always going to happen overnight and it's going to discourage you for paying
the price if you're waiting for this reward to happen immediately.
You have to have a commitment to paying the price in the process without having an emotional
attachment to the immediate result right now.
I'm talking about paying that price.
You want to live a life that nobody else gets to live.
You got to pay a price that most people ain't willing to pay.
You got to sacrifice when other people ain't willing to sacrifice.
I love the nights when I go to bed and everybody else is staying up.
I love the mornings when I get up and everybody else is going to sleep.
I love when I was in my mid-20s and everybody was partying and kicking it and I was going
to work and working on weekends and making the necessary sacrifices that other people weren't
willing to make because I understood it that there's a price that needs to be paid
and the people won't get to live the life that I'm going to get to live because they're
not willing to pay the price that I was willing to pay.
They want the results but they don't want to pay the price.
Where do they do that at?
Where does that happen?
Of course, the people ain't willing to pay the price.
They're going to drag you down and tell you that you're crazy.
But inspire yourself by the people that have made it because all of the people that
have made it are putting in the work.
They all sacrifice.
They are, do you think it's only you?
And whatever your line of work in industry is, the things that you need to sacrifice, the
things that you need to give up, the work that you need to put in, do you think you're the
only one or did everybody that is where you're at have to pretty much do the same thing?
You got to be willing to put that work in and advance.
Don't be afraid of, don't be counting hours.
If it takes you 40 hours, great.
If it takes you 100 hours in the week, great.
Do it every week.
Do it every month.
Whatever it requires to get the job done.
This is the stuff that it takes to grow that people don't want to hear.
Sometimes it's 80 hour weeks.
Sometimes it's 100 hour weeks.
Stop counting the hours and just get the job done because I'll tell you what won't happen.
If you're not going to pull over at the light, which rolls Royce and someone pull over
and say, man, you're, I feel so bad for you.
Thank you.
That car, man, you probably had to work 100 hours a week.
You probably had to deal with a bunch of setback, a bunch of haters.
You probably had to invest almost every nickel you had and take the risks and be nervous
as shit and have your mom crying because you ain't got much money left in your bank account.
Nah, nobody feels bad.
It's the exact opposite.
They look at you and say, look at this rich, lucky, snob thinks he's better than everybody
else probably had his dad give it to him.
Nobody's going to feel bad for you.
Stop feeling bad for yourself.
It takes 80 hours.
It takes 100 hours.
It takes setbacks.
It takes let downs.
It takes sacrifices.
Other people don't want to make.
That's how you get to the top.
That's how you climb.
That's why they call it work.
Grind.
And you will get the fruits of your labor, but the labor comes before the fruit.
If this helps somebody, do me a favor and share this with some folks out there on the
grind ready to go to the next level, willing to pay the price or that need to hear this.
And we appreciate all your support.
We appreciate your time.
And thanks for joining us on another episode of the Grindcast.
Get ready.
It's a new day.
