Count money, man.
Money, man.
Stacked riches.
Sometimes told, trying to told them I'm a beast, but...
What's up, gang?
Welcome back to another episode of The Grindcast.
Get ready.
It's a new day.
And we got to sometimes in life, we got to rebuild ourselves.
You know, sometimes you picture, you know, there was a picture out there that says success
what people think it is.
And it has this straight line, you know, that goes from the bottom to the top at an angle
like a straight climb.
And what it really is, the picture says is what it really is, is it goes up at an angle,
but there's a dip.
And then it comes back up at the same angle and then there's a dip.
There's, there continues to be this constant climb with, with some dips.
And then you climb back and then there's some dips and then you climb back and then there's
some dips.
So part of that process is in the dip, you got to rebuild yourself.
And depending on how big the dip is, typically the bigger the dip, if you handle it the right
way, the bigger the pop that comes back.
And so when you're in the dip and it's time to rebuild, it's not always one home run.
It's not like you can just sit back and, you know, you lost whatever it was.
And one play is going to, is going to make up for it all or one fight or one win or one
this or one that is going to be consistent action like you hurt yourself.
Like physically part of rebuilding sometimes is in sports.
You get an injury, right?
And how tough is it sometimes when you get an injury and you work so hard in the offseason
and then in the middle of the season, you get hurt and the doctor says, Hey, man, we're
out six to eight weeks or it may take you 12 weeks to get back in action.
How do you handle that?
There's not one hard rehab session that you can do and be right back on the field.
It's a 12 week process just to get back to where you were.
And so how you going to handle that?
What is the way to overcome that so you don't quit in the dip because what happens to most
people is they quit in the dip.
Is that success naturally over time is going to have these ebbs and flows and these peaks
and valleys.
And then when they hit the valley, they quit and they jump off and sometimes the scary thing
is what happens is people, when you get used to doing that, that's just how you roll.
That's just how you respond.
So every time you get the dip, every time you get the valley, you quit and you start over
in a different process, and eventually you'll come to understand that success and the
greatness that you're building isn't going to be from you being in a valley and quitting
and going to do something different.
It's going to be plugging yourself in and getting through the valley so you can come out
the other side.
And so how do you handle your mind in that process?
So I think part of the process for handling the mindset in there is can you find a way
to be grateful in the dip?
Can you find a way to be grateful in the mess?
Can you find a way to be grateful even when things aren't going your way, even when things
took an unexpected turn not in your favor temporarily?
How can we look at it and say what things cannot be grateful for?
I'm grateful for the people that were exposed that when I hit the dip, we see who was a
fair weather fan and who was really in it to win it.
What friends, what people were in the circle that when we got into a dip, they jumped off
the bus, they jumped out of the circle, they didn't want to be a part of the whatever it
was.
So be grateful for that.
Because you see who your real friends are, you see who your real people are, you see who
your real business partners are.
You see who your real crew is and that can't always be exposed in the highs.
That oftentimes can only be exposed in the lows and so be grateful for that.
And then the lessons learned.
The thing about experience, everybody knows how great it is.
You need good experience, but the thing about experience is you've got to go through the
experience.
And typically the experience is painful.
Getting experience means getting some failure.
Getting experience means taking some bumps and bruises.
And so can we be grateful for the lessons that were learned?
Can I have an attitude, a gratitude, a really look at it?
And I know it ain't easy to do.
But if you don't do that, then your mind's going to be overtaken with negativity.
And while a positive attitude doesn't always guarantee victories, a negative attitude
typically is always going to guarantee losses.
And so you got a choice.
Are you going to think about this positively?
Are you going to think about this negatively?
And the chances of you winning with a positive attitude are extreme.
And the chances of you winning with a negative attitude are almost nonexistent.
And so the suggestion would be the energy that you're going to bring, bring the energy
to the things that you can control.
So I got injured.
What can I control?
Showing up to rehab.
Rehabilitating that part of my body, watching film, strengthening other areas of my body,
building, finding other ways to win without using that one thing.
In the other areas.
But look at the things that you can control.
If it's a business deal, if it's a business situation, whatever it is that you lost, whatever
it is the situation that you got to rehabilitate that it's not going to change overnight, what's
the next best thing that you can do?
What's the next best thing that you can do?
Because if you want to have, if you want to change it in 12 months, the first thing you
got to do is change the first quarter.
And if you want to change the first quarter, the first thing you got to do is change the
first month.
And if you want to change the first month, you got to change it a week at a time.
And if you want to change it a week at a time, that first week, you got to come out with
a win, you got to win the day.
And so all you can control, I can't control winning the week.
I can control winning today.
And then I'm going to get up and I'm going to kick tomorrow's ass.
And I'm going to get up after that and I'm going to kick the next day's ass.
I'm going to win every day, one day at a time.
day at a time and the more that you win one day at a time, all of a sudden you'll be
out of winter time. You'll put your winter coat away. It'll be spring time. You can be good.
You can put on some sweats and you're starting to be okay and then all of a sudden it's summer
time and we need a t-shirt and shorts is so hot we're going to go swimming up in here
and we're out of the negative season but it started with how you handled the day and
started with how to things like how did you handle the things that you can control. One thing
that I know for sure is I can't control everybody else but I can control myself and if I can control
myself in my viewpoint and my mindset and I can control myself typically I can start to control
some of my destiny. So the suggestion would be is to take care of your MBS, your mind, your body
and your spirit in any order that you choose but you got to take care of your mind, body and spirit
when you're especially when you're going through the dips. So ask yourself how am I doing spiritually?
1-10. Score it physically eating clean, getting sleep, pushing myself, exercising on my body.
1-10 it doesn't mean I'm not saying go out and be a body builder. You got to go out and be
a fitness model. I'm just saying are you pushing yourself to be healthy, clean, getting rest or are
you exercising? I mean there's just outside of the physical oh man I want to look good but it's
the healthy, like to be healthy. How hard is it going to be to accomplish your goals if you're not
healthy? How hard is it going to be to accomplish what you want to do if you don't physically feel
the way that you need to feel? And so how can we take care of our body and then scale a 1-10,
score yourself in every area, how am I doing with my mind? Pouring into my mind, positive, real
simple thing that I do is I pull up YouTube and I put motivation or whatever's the topic YouTube
and then you listen to that. So when it comes to mind I split it into two, motivation and education.
So you got to motivate yourself and you got to educate yourself. So how you doing in those
three areas? Because if you control those three things one day at a time when you're in the dip,
when you're in a rebuild then you come out the other side stronger. We got to have faith in
this process when you're in the dip. You got to have a vision for where you will be. Don't marry
the result in the moment. Just marry your energy and your attitude and then faith, capital letters,
faith. Faith means that I got this inward belief of something that I don't have proven right in
front of me but I got this inward belief that this is a real thing that this is something that's
going to happen. This is, you got to have that faith when you're in the dip. You don't need faith
when you're in the mountaintops. You need faith when you're in the dip. Faith for me it's faith in the
Lord. It might not be for you. You could have faith in whatever but for me it's faith in the Lord.
My go to Proverbs chapter three verses five and six, trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not
lean on your own understanding. I don't understand why this happened to me.
Says in fair, do not lean on your own understanding and all your ways acknowledge him and he will set
your path straight. Faith. Just have faith. Have faith when you're in the struggle. Have faith when
you're in the dip and then don't marry the result of man I'm putting in all this energy I'm putting
in all this effort. Sometimes when you're in the rebuilding phase and I was telling somebody recently
you know some of my best years of coaching when I look back on my and I'm like man I'm proud of
myself here. We're the hardest years. The years that bury most people. I remember having a year
where I went from three million in production to three point three million in production.
I'm happy we're going to celebrate over thirty million dollars in production this year
but I remember going from three million to three point three million in production and we grew
by ten percent but we lost like seventy five percent of some of our top leadership positions.
So I had to work three times as hard. I had to travel three times as much. I had to do so much more
work to only grow by ten percent and that ten percent was a little number. I worked harder. I
worked more. I traveled more. I made less money that year but we grew some and we kept the
flow and the people around us started to learn that over time no matter what happens we're going to
find a way. Lord's going to find a way to help us to win and come out the other side. Then the next
year we went to seven million. The next year we went to eleven million. So you look we went from
three point three to eleven million. Triplled up almost. Quadrupled up almost. In a couple of years
but it started with the dip. The dip was exactly what was necessary to get us to go to the next level
and so don't hate the dip. Don't hate the rebuild. Sometimes the rebuild is exactly what you need to
build you up to go to the next level. Hopefully some of these tips helped you guys on the rebuild because
I know if you're on the grind and you're on the climb there's going to be times in your career that
you're going to have to rebuild. We're going to reload during the rebuild. We're not going to quit
during the rebuild as part of the process. You're not crazy. Just control one day at a time, one week at
a time and thanks for joining us one week at a time on the grind cast as always. We appreciate you.
We'll see you guys next week. Let's get it.
