Your Obstacles, Hardships, & Failures
Show notes
Your obstacles, hardships, and failures are what qualify you to help others. Often times, the best mentors and coaches in the world are leading others through a path that they’ve already been through. They know the obstacles and set backs ahead, along with how to either avoid them or overcome them.

Count money, man.
Money, man.
Stacked riches.
I'm trying to told him I'm a beast.
What's up, gang?
Welcome back to another episode of The Grindcast.
Get ready.
It's a new day.
And we're going to start talking about your obstacles, hardships in your failures.
Qualify you to help.
To help others and to help people.
And for those of you watching on YouTube, I apologize for making it even more difficult
to look at my ugly mug.
And I got a little, this is glue on my dome, on my forehead.
Here I had to split my head in this past week's Giu-Jitsu tournament.
And had to go, we thought, get stitches.
And I was able to talk her into giving me glue instead of stitches.
So that's why it's looking even rougher today.
So excuse, excuse the look.
But I think it's speaking of which obstacles, failures, setbacks, those things.
Look at what people, what type of people end up helping people the most.
If you have an alcohol problem, typically the best person to help you get out of it a
lot of times as someone that's beat the alcohol issue.
Or if you were in abusive relationship, typically if you have somebody come alongside, you
that's made it out of something like that, those people end up having a high rate of success
and helping other people a lot of times.
So when you're going through obstacles, setbacks, and failures, I think you understand it.
I want you to start looking at it like you're going to class, like you're going to college,
like you're going to get a degree.
It almost allows you the ability, not only the education, but it qualifies you to be able
to now help somebody else get through it once you go through that experience.
You know, I used to tell people that experience would be great if you didn't have to go through
the experience.
And so everybody knows that experience is a good thing, getting experience is a good thing.
If you can learn from those experiences, but part of the going through experience and
having experiences, you got to go through the experience and the longer that you're at
something, the longer that you're at a game, the longer that you're at this thing called
life, the more obstacles, adversities, failures that you get to go through, whether it's overcoming
a breakup or overcoming a death of a loved one or overcoming lack of loyalty or people
that backstab you or people saying something negative about you or whatever it is, the more
that you do, the higher that you climb, the further that you go, the longer you're around,
the more people are going to end up, they hated Jesus, that anybody that's ever done
anything positive, people talk about them.
So you have to understand that when you go through whatever you go through, whatever we go
through in this world together is just qualifying you now more so to help somebody else.
I was currently, right before this, I had an opportunity to step in and visit a friend's
business.
And my friend just purchased 32 acres of land and it's a female boss lady, she owns a business
and she bought a campus.
And it has like houses on it, people can live in swimming pool, basketball court.
I mean, there's just so much stuff on this, you got to have a vision to buy something like
that.
You got to have a vision to be able to operate and utilize something like that.
And then I was telling her, you know, not only that, but when people see something like
this, you know, they may say, oh, wow, you're lucky or think that you're rich or you got,
you know, maybe your dad gave it to you, you know, or something like that.
But with this represents, as I pointed around and look around with this represents is
this big piece of land, all this represents, you've been able to handle and solve a lot
of problems.
You've went through a lot of obstacles in adversity and problems to get you to be able
to live in a place and have a place for your business like this.
This is what this represents to me.
And so I think that's what you have to understand is that if you're on the road to greatness
and trying to accomplish something great, other people will understand that have gotten
there.
But it's difficult for people to understand what it takes and what it requires that
haven't gotten there yet because people often look at the perks of a certain person's
situation, but they don't look and reflect upon the price.
And the first thing that I see when somebody is building something like that or does something
like that is, wow, I respect the price that you had to pay, not to buy this, but the
price that you had to pay to be able to buy this, I know was a road filled with doubt,
fear, obstacles, failures, setbacks, hate, criticism, adversity, whatever.
And people just see the perk of it all in the end and picture.
I just tend to appreciate that process.
So I just want to encourage you guys out there to understand, I was looking, reading something
recently, it said that when you're doing something big, if you're in leadership, if you're
running a big business and you look at it, it's solving problems and then you're reward
for solving problems.
You know what the reward is when you get done solving problems?
More problems.
That's what people don't see.
As you understand that, the way that you get this is you solve problems and you're reward
for getting done with solving those problems is, here's a new set of problems for you.
And so if you don't get comfortable with being uncomfortable and always dealing with problems,
you can allow yourself to get discouraged and you can allow yourself to almost get angry
and bitter or look at yourself or look at the game like you're doing something wrong
or it's doing something wrong and don't hate to play or hate to game.
Don't hate yourself hate the game.
Don't just understand that it's part of the game and look at it like it's a game.
Not getting frustrated because it's part of the game because you're going to have to
always handle problems.
If you want to lead a lot of people, if you want to do big things, it's a constant problem
solving equation that doesn't stop.
And the minute that you stop paying the price is the minute the things typically go the
opposite direction.
Now you can develop people, the ad people to help you, you know, all that stuff so it can
get easier.
But really what I think happens is you end up just getting stronger.
People think that it gets easier because it looks easy, but it really doesn't get any
easier.
You just get that much better.
You get that much stronger.
And so that's why it just we need to put the attention and focus on becoming a better version
of ourselves.
So we are big enough to handle the problems that we've been praying for.
You know, there was that whole quote, you know, you'll see, I saw go around, I think on
social media somewhere, it said that you can't be angry that you have a full plate when
you were praying to eat.
So you know people are, oh man, I just want to eat.
I just want to eat.
Well, here you go.
You wanted to eat.
Here you go.
Full plate.
My brother full plate my sister full plate.
Here you go.
You wanted to eat.
Well, here you go.
Now you're overwhelmed.
Now you're stressed out.
You want to eat.
But this is what you want it.
Or did you only want the, you wanted the perks.
That's what happened.
You wanted the perks.
So nobody was mentoring you or helping you or you weren't asking for advice and wisdom
and insight from people to say, hey, I think I want to get married.
But hey, you five married people looks like you got a good marriage.
Can I ask you a few questions?
Can you tell me about how to have a good marriage and what has cost to you and what it's been
like with the process has been like and listening to those five people and none of those five
people is going to tell you that marriage was easy.
It just looks easy from the outside.
And so when you look at it asking all this pro fighter, all you five, you guys are great
fighters.
All right, let me ask you, what did it cost you?
Talk to me about injuries.
Talk to me about sacrifice.
Talk to me.
Talk to me about failure.
Talk to me about what you've had to go through and overcome to get here.
Go ahead, talk to me.
None of those people is going to tell you that it was easy.
But I think people get into business situations or progressive situations in general where
they want to make progress and something and they don't count the price.
They just look at the outcome.
And so they get discouraged on the journey because they thought they were just supposed
to pay a small price and they get to have that outcome and then you end up finding that's
how you start respecting the game.
Because I know what that costed you to be that good.
I know what you had to give up.
I know what things you had to get yourself to do that you didn't feel like freaking doing.
To be that damn good.
And that's what I respect and I respect the process.
That's why if you're going to start to get great at things, you have to learn to respect
and appreciate the process.
Somebody thinks that this is supposed to be easy.
Success is not a destination.
Everybody's waiting.
I think people are waiting to get to this destination called success.
The destination you're getting to is either you're going to under, you got to realize you're
either going forwards or you're going backwards or either growing or you're dying.
In the minute that you say that I'm at my destination, you're done.
That's the minute you don't get to go forward anymore.
Because you're not willing to pay the price any longer and you thought that it was supposed
to get to a destination where it becomes easy.
That's not to say you can't define where you want to be and that you can't get to that
point and stop pushing as hard or whatever and get but just know that might be where we
end.
That's the complacency that might be it.
There's no, you can't do that and expect to have a bunch of growth too typically.
So one thing I know is those of you that are listening to this, that means that you care
enough about investing into yourself to try to add value to yourself, to add value
to others to make a difference in your life and in other people's lives.
So if you're on that journey with me and with us, then I know that you're probably on
your way towards or coming out of obstacles, hardships, failures and setbacks.
Now I want you to celebrate the fact that you're on that today or you know that you're
probably on your way there or you're coming out of one because just start embracing the
journey and the process.
You're not going to die.
Anything that happens to you is happening for you.
Anything that's working its way around.
If you handle it the right way, it's just going to make you better.
It's just going to make you stronger.
This qualifies you for the next level and separates you from everybody else that taps out when
things are not easy any longer because you weren't asking for easy.
You were asking for greatness.
You want greatness.
You want to make big impact.
We only live one time.
Pay that price.
So I appreciate you guys taking time out today.
Hopefully this made an impact on somebody.
If so, would you mind sharing this with people for us and we appreciate you.
Thanks for joining us on another episode of the grind cask Get Ready Us a New Day.
