Count money, man, money, that grits is fine.
I told trying to told him I'm a beast, but
what's up gang?
What's up gang?
I'm going to the grind cast.
I'm an area here.
Get ready to do.
Do you do?
New day.
What's up gang?
Simon here and getting ready to kick off the second grind cast in the topic today is
going to be how to handle haters.
Unfortunately, there's no way around it that the bigger that you get, the more success
that you have, the more haters that are going to get popped up.
And so what you need to do is get comfortable.
We got to get comfortable today.
Come up with a little bit of a game plan on how we're going to handle the haters
that are inevitably going to pop up.
I mean, you look at mother Teresa, you look at every, if they hated Jesus Christ,
whether you're Christian or not, just look at the story in the background.
If they hated Jesus Christ, what do you think they're going to do to you and me?
And so here's the approach that I've learned to take and train my mind and trick my mind on.
If you want to be a professional, you got to be able to do what professionals do.
And professionals learn to deal with hate.
You look at professional athletes, such as I'll give the example of LeBron James
because that's today's Jordan right now.
So let's look at Tom Brady.
They both got major haters.
When they go to play away games, you think everybody in the stands is cheering
for them. There's people out there talking about their mother.
There's people out there talking shit, hating on them, boon them and all this stuff.
And what did they do? They just stand there and deliver.
They just stand there and be what they are.
The goat, the greatest player out currently in their sport at this very moment.
And so they embrace the hate.
We can't go out there thinking that we got to be like a meta world piece.
That's how you start acting not like a professional.
You guys remember when my man Artes, ran up into stands and started choking the fans.
I feel them.
You know how many times I wanted to run out here and start choking some of these
keyboard tough guys.
You can't do stuff like that.
If you want to live a professional's life because the higher that you go,
the more haters that you're going to have.
And so we need to start getting in the mindset today that if we're going to be a professional,
we have to handle things like hate as a professional.
We can't go out there putting hits on everybody from California to New York.
This was a hard one for me to grasp coming up, growing up in youngstown where we,
you got a problem.
We start fighting.
We start beefing which we coming to see you.
Like you have to erase that mindset.
If that's the old mindset because you're going to waste all your time letting
other people control your game instead of being the professional that you are and
watching them have to sit in the stands and clap for you.
Let me tell you recently in the last couple of years,
I had a situation in my business, one of my main business, my main business,
the insurance business where I had a specific group of people,
individual, led by an individual that started to for no reason.
Hate on us.
Just every day blasting us on social media, saying a bunch of negativity,
a bunch of stuff we didn't deserve.
I mean, the captain of it all, somebody I sat there and prayed with and helped
through addiction issues when they were in my business years and years ago,
that all of a sudden, I believe what was verbalized to me is was trying to take
an approach of like a Conor McGregor to market themselves using me,
using our business to elevate themselves and I never took the bait.
And so I never engaged the way that they wanted me to engage because I'd
start to learn to elevate myself mentally as a professional.
And I'm thinking, man, if LeBron starts engaging in an argument with some
random bench warmer college player, all of a sudden that college player gets elevated.
If biggie, rest in peace, if notorious B.I.G. starts, every rapper that starts calling
them fat on the corner, he starts wanting to talk about that.
All of a sudden that person gets to lie on light and gets elevated.
And so what I had to learn to do was to go to a whole nother level mentally with
my discipline because I mentioned what I wanted to do physically.
What I wanted to do was do what I would have did 20 years ago.
That's what I wanted to do.
I wanted to go find them.
I wanted to call my friends and family and make a recommendation.
But I had to, I had to do what professionals do.
I had to let go and let God.
And so I started to draw a circle around myself that look if it's not going to
threaten my family at all, which I'm willing to die for, then I got to let go and let
God.
And so every day I start waking up in prayer and I start praying Isaiah 54, 17, no weapon
formed against us shall prosper.
And every tongue that rises against us in judgment will be condemned.
This is the promise to the servant to the Lord day after day, day after day, day after
day.
And so that went on for the whole year.
This was 17, 2017.
I started out 2018.
All of a sudden this person is no longer here with us on earth.
Something happened.
He passes away in 18.
We have our best year ever in the history of our organization.
We win every award that you could possibly win in our business and in our industry.
I mean, completely dominate everything.
And so above my wall, walking into my office, I got, I got that scripture on my arm.
I got tattooed no weapon as a reminder of the daily prayer of, of how deep I went
spiritually to elevate this thing to let go.
Let God put myself in a place of focus where I took all my energy out on training,
jujitsu, training boxing, yoga, going harder physically mentally, spiritually, waking up and
using all of that energy.
And that's what I want to help you with next.
I want you to learn to turn that negativity into positivity to take the stones and
bricks that other people throw at you and build a big ass wall that you stand on top
of overlooking all of the bullshit.
See what happens is people don't know how to digest hate.
And so what I've learned is how to digest hate.
You know, they say people don't, you know, your body doesn't digest milk or the
right way or or it doesn't break down the digestion process.
And so what I've learned in the digestion process is that I've learned to need,
need hate like like a person on a diet needs a little bit of fat in their diet.
Like you got to learn how to use that energy as fuel.
Okay.
Like like use all that energy that you feel from that person from those people.
Use all of that energy and don't you dare waste it.
You already got all that built up energy.
You already have all that emotion going on inside.
You either going to let that person control your life, control your flow,
pull you down or you're going to bundle it all up and boom.
Use it as gasoline.
Use it as fuel.
And so what I've learned to do.
Is I've learned to digest all of that, all the, all the anything that somebody has to say behind
a keyboard, any, any words that I hear people, people say anytime I start getting this
stuff, I immediately put it in my pocket and I'm going to use this at 4 30 in the morning,
when I don't feel like getting up.
Oh, I'm going to use this to kick off my Monday to take this to a whole another level.
Why you're sleeping, Hey, there why you're typing tough guy while I'm elevating this business
with my people while we're taking people's life to the next.
Level, I'm going to use that energy that you tried to use against me.
And I'm elevated to the next level because I learned this.
I learned what was this quote was it, uh, Sinatra that said the best revenge is massive
success.
And so that's which, that's what I want you guys to, that's what I want you to control.
See, to me, here's, here's the way that I personally would define, Hey, somebody who's
like talking, talking smack or making it their life's focus to affect you negatively,
hating on you.
Usually these people are doing worse than you.
They're jealous of you are they're miserable in their own life.
Losers focus on winners and winners focus on winning.
Think about that.
Have you have you ever met a hater that's doing
better than the person that they're hating on?
Very rarely, very rarely almost doesn't never happen.
Is there a moment where the people that are hating on you are doing way better than you?
It's typically people doing worse than you that are jealous on you that are trying to slow you
down, trying to make them self feel better, look better to use you to elevate themself.
But the longer you're around, the longer you elevate, you're going to learn that
losers focus on winners and winners focus on doing what they do.
That's, that's winning.
Now, let me tell you, there's, there's sometimes everybody wants to be a diamond.
Nobody wants to get cut.
So there's sometimes you got to get cut.
Somebody might have to tell you something that's going to benefit you or help you in the long run.
And it might not be necessarily hate.
And the way that I've learned to decipher that is what are the intentions of that person
and what is the credibility of this person?
So the intentions of that person, if their intention is to ruin you and hurt you,
then that's usually probably a hater and it's bad karma.
It's, it's stuff that they use that they have no idea is going to create their own,
they're going to lie in their own mess that, that they created.
But if it's coming from a person that they want to help you out of a position of love
then it's not necessarily hate.
But when people start hating, they're, they're creating bad karma.
It's a waste of time.
You know, I look at that.
I remember this picture that was going around after Michael Phelps won the Olympic medal.
And it showed this picture while he was swimming and it showed the person next to him.
That was in second place, looking at him.
I mean, water is swimming his heads up out of the water and he's looking at Michael Phelps.
The goat.
And you see the picture of Phelps, he just focused and moving forward.
He not looking to the left, not looking to the right, not looking who's behind him.
And that's just the exact example is that sometimes the people that get to losing,
they start focusing their energy and losing ground and looking at the winner while the winners focused on winning.
I mean, here's, here's when I realized I probably had no shot at pleasing everybody.
When I looked, I saw this thing going around, I think it was on Facebook.
It was a YouTube thing.
And it was a girl that a young child that had beat cancer looked like, you know,
if I had to take a guest age would have been maybe eight to 10 years old.
She beat cancer.
She had about 5,000 thumbs up likes, bunch of positive comments.
And there was like 50 thumbs down.
50.
I can understand how somebody maybe would want to hate on LeBron or could think of something negative about Tom Brady or hate on me.
But when there's a girl that beat cancer, a child and you, and there's 50 people that think that's negative and have a thumbs that,
what chance do I have in this world of thinking that nobody's ever going to get a hate on me?
And so here's a simple quote that I keep in the back of my pocket to inspire me to motivate me.
And I hope it motivates you to digest things the right way.
If you don't like me, but you're still watching everything that I do, you're a fan.
If you don't like me and you're still watching and commenting and looking at everything that I do, you're a fan.
Like you might as well be in the crowd and let me sell some tickets to you and you could clap and boo like we're out of sports game.
Like these people are fans of you.
If this stuff is happening to you, understand that I believe this is almost a form of flattery in a compliment when people are absorbing
themselves and consuming themselves of their life and their time.
The only thing in life we can't get back, one of the biggest assets that we have are time, our time and life.
They're using their time to look at you, talk about you, think about you, speak negatively, focus on you.
When if you didn't like me and you're still watching everything that you're, you got to be classified as a fan.
And so you start to look at people that have done it.
I remember the back in the day, Rest in Peace, notorious B.I.G.
He came out with the Mo Money Mo Problems.
And people would like to sing this song and get involved in it.
But now I start to understand that the more money we come across, the more problems we see.
Mo Money Mo Problems.
But check this out.
I've learned that Mo Problems equals Mo Money.
That's what business is all about.
That's what elevation at any level, whether you're a pastor and you want to solve people's problems,
whether it's a youth program and you want to solve children's problems, whether it's business,
the more problems that you solve, the more success that you're going to have.
And so understand you can't ask for more success in whatever area as a coach, as a pastor, as a mentor,
as a parent, as a business person, you can't want more of the blessing and not have the burden that comes with it.
Mo problems, Mo money, Mo problems, more success. That's your job to solve. So understand that the greatest of all the greats, all the goats.
I think I heard little Wayne say one time you're not great until someone tries to assassinate and I'm feeling like MLK.
Like the higher you go, the greater you get, the more hate that comes your way until it gets so crazy, people just want, they want to take you out of the game.
And so I want to end on this today. I want you guys to embrace the hate and I don't want to confuse you to bottle up all this energy and let's use it as as as anger and negativity.
I pray for people. I bless people. I laugh about it now. I stay above it all. I don't miss a beat. I'm used to it.
Don't let what anybody else has to say about you change the person that you are. Don't let it change your heart. Don't let it change your spirit. Don't let it change your intentions.
Keep being you. Stay above it all. Stay happy. Focus on your life. Focus on the things that you can control.
But don't waste that hate. Don't waste that little bit of emotion and feeling when you could use that as gasoline to take you and take other people to the next level.
Because I know there's no way personally I would be where I am today.
Whether it's in football, I remember telling me I was too small. You ain't going to do this. You ain't going to do that.
From there, I used all that fuel. I'm like, no, I'm going to start. We're going to be a captain. We're going to win it all here because of you because of that hate.
And so I've learned and I want you to do that to start understanding. Let's digest all this stuff the right way because there's no way.
Our business. There's no way. I know that the life that I'm living in the people around me are living.
We would never be here. We would not be in this space if it wasn't for people hating on us and giving that added energy to make us that much better.
So to close this off today, I just want to send a sincere thank you to all of the haters out there personally that have hated on me or us.
I just sincerely, seriously. Other than God and my family, other than those first couple of people that are in there, right next to that, I think on my end, I never would have been able to do it without you.
So I just from the bottom of my heart, I just want to tell you how much that I appreciate you and thank you for helping to take us to the next level as a hater.
Gang, this is the close. We're going to close out the grind cast today. All I ask is that if you found some value in this and you find any value and you know people that need to hear this stuff, please share it with somebody.
Our mission is to just impact as many people as we possibly can. We don't want to charge anything.
The only thing that we ask is that you're going to spread the word and let's get this stuff into the head, hearts and hands of people that need this stuff.
And let's go out there and change our portion of the world. Thanks for joining us on the grind. Let's get it.
