What's up, gang?
Welcome back to another episode of The Grindcast.
Get ready.
It's a new day and we got to get in the zone.
Talking about getting into the zone for the year to, you know, a couple areas that we
could focus on is how we're going to feed ourselves in all these different areas.
And so the first one is sleep.
You know, if you want to maintain to be great at something, you're going to have to be
consistent for the year.
And if you're going to be consistent for the year, you got to have energy.
If you're going to have energy, sleep is one of those pillars of your health.
And so how are we going to sleep?
And so some tips on sleep that I've learned is, you know, can you set a goal for yourself
every day?
What time would you like to go to bed, you know, within an hour?
So, you know, between 10 and 11 o'clock or between 9 and 10 o'clock or between 8 and 9 or whatever
is your, just have a zone that you have a goal of.
Here's my zone that I want to try to be sleeping at this hour every day.
And it allows your body to get into a rhythm.
And what time are you going to wake up?
And so during that sleep, if you have trouble sleeping, you know, one of the first places
I would invest is into a supplement called magnesium.
This is my personal opinion from what I've learned.
I'm not a doctor, but the supplement called magnesium helps you to sleep.
It's like a natural muscle relaxer, you know, so maybe that's something that you look
into.
I know it helps your sleep and recovery to not eat right before bed, you know, so if
you could eat your last meal, two or three hours, ideally three hours before you go to bed
and you're going to watch your body recover a little bit better.
There's a, you know, it's called the aura ring OURA or a ring that you can get and you
wear it at night, you can wear it all day, but you can wear it at night and it tracks your
sleep and it tells you areas that you can improve and it gives you something measurable.
You know, when I was focusing on getting better sleeping, it's hard to have a goal if
you don't really know, like if you don't have a score to it, right?
So you can go off of your field, but having a score to it, it'll show you how you did
and give you a score 80%, 90% you know, and tell you areas that you can improve.
That might be something that would be beneficial, you know, to do, I think getting into a colder
room.
Cold, it seems that if your body's hot, you don't get as much rest and recovery and so these
are just a couple quick tips that I would give you, but one is just focusing on it, is making it,
make it a priority and watch how much more energy that you get and then, you know, right after
sleep is exercise.
And so you're, you're exercise and there's no excuses to this, you know, I'm not saying everybody
has to be a sprinter or a power lifter, but there got to be something that you're doing
consistently, almost on a daily basis to push yourself as far as exercise goes.
To me, I think, you know, getting in the zone to help other people to build something.
The first thing is you got to be in your, in your zone, taking care of yourself and to
take care of yourself, you got to sleep then you got to get up and you got to push yourself
a little bit, get yourself sweating a little bit, pushing yourself into a consistent workout routine.
You know, as far as maybe stretching cardio, you know, if you want to break it down into three
things, just, you know, flexibility stretching, that also helps with stress, strength training,
and then some part of some part of cardio vascular training.
And then, you know, you want to challenge yourself in all these areas, see how you can improve
in all these areas.
What way can you challenge yourself, you know, I'll give you examples of, you know, challenging
yourself to be more flexible, challenge yourself to get your body fat down, challenging yourself
to eat clean for more days out of the week, challenging yourself to get stronger in a certain
area, challenging yourself, you know, I've been working on the cold tub, you know, how cold
can you get down?
How long can you stay and overcome that mental?
When you start to challenge yourself, you grow and you'll build confidence that if I can
do that, I can do this because when you challenge yourself, your mind is always going to tell
you to get out of there, stop doing this.
And when you overcome that, you start to build momentum, you know, for yourself.
Another one is hydration, you know, some people get headaches all the time or they lack
energy so much of it, you could look up, I don't have the exact percent, but I know
water makes up a huge percent of our bodily makeup.
And so are you consistently focusing on keeping yourself hydrated in the form of just not
just water, but you may need electrolytes to keep yourself hydrated.
That's something that you could, because all this helps you get into the zone.
I know this stuff ain't as much fun to study your talk about for some people, but this
is how you get yourself in the zone because if you don't have energy, how are you going
to get into the zone?
If you're not feeling well, if you're not feeling great, how are you going to get into the
zone?
If you can't mentally handle whatever is going on around you because you're stressed out
mentally so much, how are you going to get into the zone?
And so getting into the zone, it helps you to hang around people that are going to improve
you intentionally.
So what people help you get into the zone?
Have you self-awareness going into the year?
What people make you feel better?
What people make you feel worse?
What people bring the best out of you?
What people bring the worst out of you in whatever area?
And then maybe schedule time and plan to make sure, regardless, if you got a drive or
whatever, but intentionally hanging around people that bring the best out of you.
Maybe watching the words that you speak to get into the zone.
What words are you speaking?
Are you speaking positivity into your life?
Are you speaking negativity into your life?
I think one thing that helps people mentally is when you're serving other people, when
you're helping others.
Is there a way that you could help other people consistently this year to where you can go
out of your way to go out and serve people?
When it comes to mental health, your mental health, it's intentionally what are you going
to pour into your mind?
What do you get a feed into your mind?
What goal do you have?
First of all, what is your goal for the year?
What do you want to, what are you trying to accomplish?
We can't just wing it.
So what are you trying to accomplish?
What is your goal?
And then consistently feeding positivity into your mind?
I like to do that in audiobooks or YouTube.
Certain YouTube, you could just YouTube motivation and find people that you connect with, find
videos that inspire you.
I like to look at a lot of Napoleon Hill stuff.
As far as audiobooks, you could pull those things up on YouTube.
But anything that you find that inspires you.
Don't be afraid to research it.
Dig around a little bit.
Right now, people shop a lot online.
So more malls have been crushed because people are shopping more online than they used
to do it more in person.
Now people are shopping a lot online.
We can't give more time to shopping online than we do shopping to help our mental health
in to build your mind up.
So if you want to grow your mind, grow your mind by feeding it intentionally positivity,
by the things that you listen to.
Personally, I think when you connect with your faith, whatever you choose to have faith
in, whatever is your religious background or if you have any at all, but I think just
faith, walking closer in your faith, walking further in your faith helps your mental health
also.
Breath work.
I'm not giving you things that I don't do.
Everything that I tell you are things that I've done, that I've researched, that I've
done, that I've put time into, that I've failed at, that I've improved, that I've asked
questions on, that I've seen doctors about.
So all this stuff isn't stuff that I'm just guessing on.
So breath work, I like to do what they call the Wim Hof.
So you could plug in the guided Wim Hof method into a Google search and it'll pop up.
It'll give you something that you can follow.
This to me helps stress levels, it helps your lung capacity.
I think it helps you to me.
Personally, I see improvement in cardio when you're doing the breath work.
I also think it brings relaxation and helps you mentally and helps you in a lot of
areas.
So if you haven't tried it out yet, I'd encourage you to try that out for a month with some
consistency and see how you see how you feel.
Speaking of consistency, if we're going to get into the zone, you got to be consistent.
We can't say we're going to do something and we do it for a day or we do it for a week
and then we stop doing it.
So what are some things that you're trying to grow in this year and how can you develop
a system that you're going to be consistent at it?
I'm going to save $100 a month.
I want to start saving.
I'm going to save $100 every single month, whatever it is.
I'm going to work out X amount of days a week, whatever it is, we got to be consistent
at it.
And if we're going to be consistent at it, I think the brother or sister or a discipline
or consistency is disciplined.
Because if you're trying to grow at something, we got to be consistent in the things that
we need to be consistent in to grow typically aren't fun.
It's stuff that we don't necessarily feel like doing all the time typically that's going
to get us to growth.
So we got to find discipline.
What are the things this year that you know you need to stop doing or cut back on?
I want to cut back on this.
I want to cut back on that.
What are the things that you could stop doing that's going to bring you to where you want
to be.
And I think living your life by a schedule in a plan.
You know this can you say look let me just give it everything I got for one month.
Take it one month at a time, one month, one month.
Here what I'm saying, whatever the goal is, map it out, get a schedule, put things in your
schedule that you need to do, put it in your you know I like to go to my phone, calendar,
and plug things in.
And so if you plug it in you have a schedule, this is what I'm going to do when I'm going
to do it, where I'm going to do it, who I'm going to do it with.
What's the plan?
Have a schedule and have a plan and then let's stick to that plan for one month straight.
These are the things that are going to help you to get into the zone into a rhythm.
And you watch an athlete and they say man, he or she is man there in the zone.
They're in the zone.
That's how we want to get our life.
When they say they're in the zone, it's like man, they can't miss everything.
They're everything is going in their in their favor.
Every ball they hit, every shot they shoot, they're just, they're just in the zone.
I don't think you can get in the zone if mentally you ain't right.
Right.
So if you're going to get into the zone, the areas that get your mind right to me, I can
get my mind right if I can't get my body right mind and body.
That's why they say mind, body and spirit is that they're connected.
So you got to get your mind right to attract the things that you want to attract to you.
Part of getting your mind right is your thoughts.
What are the words that you're speaking to yourself and about yourself out loud or internally?
If there's negative thoughts in your mind, it's going to be hard for you to get into the
zone.
But all of us go through those periods of having negative thoughts in our mind.
So what is the combat today?
What is the training today?
I told you pushing yourself physically, giving yourself little challenges that you could
be proud of saying, man, I didn't want to do that in a minute.
It sucks.
But when you get done, you're proud of yourself and that starts to help your mind, starts
to help build up your confidence.
What do you feed yourself into your mind?
The books, the audio books, the YouTube clips, the music, the things that get you in
the zone.
Look at yourself like an athlete, like a person that if your game starts at one o'clock,
you don't just arrive to the stadium and get going at one o'clock.
You got to warm up, you got to stretch, you got to get yourself going.
You got to practice a little bit.
You got to get a sweat going on.
These are the things that we got to go leading into our day in order to get into the zone.
To sleep, to give us to energy, the food, the nutrition, to give us to energy, the hydration,
to give us to energy, the breath work, to help with the stress, to get you into the zone.
The discipline to say no to things.
The more successful that you're going to be, the busier you're going to be, and the more
successful that you're going to be, the more people that want to pull things from you,
time, money, resources, whatever it is, you got to get used to and get over, you're
going to have to say no to some things in order to get into the zone, in order to get
into the rhythm.
You can't do this, can't do that because I'm in the zone.
Being consistent, being disciplined, and let's take it one month, this one month, can you
go on to feed it for a month, which are consistent?
with your consistency and your discipline and all these areas to get yourself a little bit
of momentum and get yourself into the zone. All right so it's 2025. We're here. We're getting into
the zone. I'm with you and I thank you as always we appreciate you. Thanks for joining us on
another episode of the Grand Cascade. Get ready us a new day.
