Transcript
Count money man, money man,
I'm trying to talk, trying to talk to my beast,
but what's up gang welcome back to another episode of the grind cast get ready.
It's a new day. We're going to talk a little bit about one of my favorite authors,
Napoleon Hill, one of the books he wrote that's popular.
You may have heard of thinking grow rich.
So some of the foundational principles that he shared time and time again.
I'm going to go over some of those things and see how we can apply him.
So success begins with having a clear,
specific goal or purpose in life.
And so let's stop there for a minute.
If you don't have this, I want you to create a clear, specific,
think about specific, measurable, timely, be as specific as possible goal
in what you're trying to accomplish right now in life.
Knowing what you want is like the starting point of all the achievements and it kind of
keeps you going and pushing so often when people lose their motivation, they lose their why,
which is losing their want, which is what we're talking about.
That's kind of like your North Star.
Like what are we trying to accomplish here?
Because in order to go to the level that you want to go to,
you got to be on fire.
You got to have that desire.
You know, I have on the inside of my arm.
I have my mom right in the curse of because she kept saying it to me over and over again.
She said never let your stop your fire stop burning.
Don't never let anyone stop your fire from burning.
And so you got to make sure that you don't let anyone stop your fire from burning.
Keep your fire burning.
And so to like that fire and bring that desire is always connected to the vision
in the why is at the foundation of that.
Okay, if you want, if you want to have success, you got to be on fire.
You got to be on a mission.
And I think that's that's you.
You can't depend on leaders and other people to help you all the time.
You got to create this why for yourself.
And you could do it in so many different ways with so many different things.
From from your workout to what you do out of work to what you do in work to you could just you
could create so many wise that set you on fire.
If you tap into that and then from there to allow you to have this natural gas, this natural
fuel, this natural energy.
I mean, it's hard to accomplish greatness, laxadaisical.
And so your desire has to be intense.
That desire has to be unwavering.
What does it mean unwavering unwavering means that no matter what happens,
you never let somebody stop your fire from burning.
So Napoleon Hill said it has to be unwavering and deeply personal.
You got to make it personal.
How could you make it deeply personal?
This is what I want you to only you could dig in and find the ways that you can make it deeply
personal. These people are saying this about me.
That's out of my control.
Frank Sinatra, Best Former Revenge, Massive Success.
All right, I got a reason now.
I could go let let that burn.
These ones don't believe in me.
They didn't say it, but I could just feel it in their vibe.
They don't believe.
All right, boom, you add that to your add that to your fuel.
These people do believe in me.
All right, I don't want to let them down.
Add that to your fuel.
I had a setback.
Let me inspire all these other people that are watching me with this setback so we can inspire
and change all these other people.
All right, boom, I got more fuel.
Man, I believe God is using me in this very circumstance and it's very moment to be a
testimony of His love, grace, and mercy and strength and all the things that you could do
when you submit to Him.
So you have to be the one to be on the cross.
You got to be the one to be, okay, boom, now I got that fuel, that gas, that vision,
that purpose, that meaning of why do I have to go through this pain and make it personal.
Napoleon Hill talks a lot about visualizing.
So you got to visualize yourself hitting these goals and what it's going to feel like.
You got to have that belief.
That's our word of the week this past week was belief and faith.
You got to believe that you're going to hit your goals because
the mindset that you have, the visualization, the feelings that you have,
all those things become a self-fulfilling prophecy for you.
Faith is a catalyst for turning thoughts into reality.
Is that belief, that faith that you have, that these actions are going to end up with this
result.
This was my thought and I got to do the actions in the action spot as where you need that faith
before it becomes a reality.
Positive self-talk.
These are all things that you'll find in Napoleon Hill as he talks about some of these things that
positive self-talk will influence your subconscious mind and align your thoughts with your actions.
Positive self thoughts and talk.
Positive self thoughts and talk.
Activates the subconscious mind and then that will start to help you put a lot of these
thoughts and things into place.
So just you got to fight hard to manage those thoughts.
He talks about a success framework.
So he says, general education is important.
You know, you're just your general education and things that you've learned in school.
Just having a general education isn't a bad thing but you have to have,
you have to master specific knowledge and skills.
So just getting an education, that's good, that's kind of general, but then we got to hone in
and have some specific knowledge and skills and something that you want to be great at.
Saw something where if you read a book or read or study one hour a day, for five years you'll
be a master on that subject.
Imagine if you did three hours a day.
Now we can cut that down into a year and a half.
Be a master on that subject.
That's what he's talking about is specific things that you want to hone in on.
He talks over and over again.
If you indulge in an Napoleon Hill, you'll see how much he talks about success requiring clear plans
like a clear blueprint, like a clear, like an architect clearly drawn out of this is what I want to do.
Having a strategy and then execution, right?
So right now, think about, all right, what's my plan?
Do I have a clear plan or what I'm looking to do?
Is there a clear plan?
All right, there's a plan.
Now what's the strategy?
Okay, here's the plan.
Now here's the strategy.
Now we just got to go out and execute.
A goal without an action plan is just to wish.
So make sure we can't just be listening to this and just going on like,
what are your goals right now?
What is your goal for this month?
What is your goal for this quarter?
What goals do you have?
And then make sure does my goal have clear plans?
Then when you're on that plan, the execution phase of it, consistency and perseverance are
going to be critical.
You got to be consistent.
Can't do it one week, not do it the next week.
Can't do it one month, not do it the next month.
You got to do it day and day out week and week out.
We got to be consistent.
But then the perseverance is going to be crucial because no matter how,
no matter how great the play is drawn up, no matter what you do,
there's always going to be obstacles in adversity in your plan, in your life, in the game,
and whatever it is.
It's how you handle that adversity.
You got to be able to have perseverance.
You got to persevere.
You got to find ways to get yourself to get through hard times.
Obstacles, setbacks.
The reason why so many people that are capable don't get to the other side and
accomplish what they're capable of doing is because they can't persevere.
They quit.
When things get difficult, when things are good, we're diled in.
But when things get challenging, when things get difficult,
you know what I'm saying?
When the goal gets tough, tough get going.
That's perseverance.
We need you to get going.
If you're going through some stuff, I need you to get going.
Not when the goal gets tough.
We quit.
We tap out.
We look for the easy road.
It's not always going to be this way.
That's called perseverance.
Just keep controlling what you can control.
That is a season that you're in.
And how you handle those seasons will dictate if you get to have a lot of winning seasons
that come back.
Many people give up when success is just right around the corner.
You know, it helps you if you could surround yourself
with the group of supportive, like-minded individuals.
This is where I admire people that do this.
And then other people that don't do this and they don't go to where they want to go,
it sounds extreme to them.
But you have to let go of family members and friends to go spend your time with people
that are like-minded and whatever you're trying to get great at.
Whatever you're trying to do, you need to get yourself around people that are like-minded
in the chase of whatever that pursuit is.
And so you have that support system.
That support system, you can't always rely on your friends, your old friends.
You can't rely on your family.
Man, if you got support of people in your family on this big mission that you're taking,
you're blessed.
Great.
Good for you.
Straight up.
Man, you're so blessed.
Appreciate that.
If you got some friends supporting you on a big mission, great.
Now, they may support you from here, but if you hang around them a lot,
you're trying to be a professional athlete and you've got to eat chicken and vegetables and
they're eating waffles, pancakes, and pizza.
It's going to be difficult for you if that's your day-to-day click.
So you've got to surround yourself with people that are supporting you and people that are
like-minded.
How you doing there?
Check right now, just just quick inventory where you're spending your time, who you're spending
your time with or you're spending your time with people that challenge you to become better,
that are like-minded, that make you become better because you're around them or you're around
other people that are pulling you down.
Your circle, and this is a breakdown of Napoleon Hill's thoughts, your circle creates synergy
that helps you achieve those goals.
It's about your mindset and your attitude.
I mean, it just blows my mind.
You know those people that when the phone rings to talk to them, you are ready.
Oh, shit.
What she want now, what she want now, you can't have a positive life with a negative attitude.
Your mindset and your attitude is going to dictate everything else.
This is why I'm always preaching and teaching people in the beginning of the morning.
You have to go ahead and pour into yourself mentally, consistently positive things because out of
your mind and your heart, everything else flows.
And if you don't take care of that, then your mindset and your attitude ain't going to be great.
Your attitude determines your latitude.
And then along that path, man, when you're going on the success journey, you got fear.
Fear is just always going to be there.
That fear is the greatest obstacle to success, the fear that you have.
Learn how to overcome those fears.
And you know, Napoleon Hill says there's six basic fears.
You got poverty, fear of poverty, fear of criticism, others criticizing you, fear of ill health,
fear of loss of love, fear of old age, fear of death.
We must overcome these fears.
What a positive mental attitude, a constructive, healthy mindset attracts opportunities to you.
Whereas a negative mindset repels them.
You got to hear me on this.
I had a friend of mine that was recently talking about how he was explaining to his friend.
You know why he thinks maybe these things didn't go as way and said,
hey, if you just start thinking acting better,
acting positive, thinking positive and you're in the right zone, more opportunities will come your way.
You can't expect these opportunities to come your way when you're having a negative mindset.
You're going to repel opportunities for you.
Napoleon Hill talks a lot about how to achieve wealth.
He got the book, Thinking Grow Rich, right?
Wealth, personal growth.
You know, those are his zones.
And he talks about indecisiveness
is one of the key causes of failure.
Indecisive, I can't make a decision.
This is why when I open up, tell them people on what I think it would take for them to be successful
in the business or in businesses, you got to go all in.
People, some people say, man, I want to come in.
I want to try it out.
You ain't going to try it out.
It's going to try you out.
Things that are worth it.
Hard things, you don't really try out.
If your mindset ain't freaking locked in, you ain't going to make it.
If you're, you got to be all in.
indecisiveness is you you failing for sure.
Man it chases two rabbits at the same time catches none.
Successful people make the decisions
that they need to make and not make it last months
like make decisions decisively and then they stick to it.
You know, on that journey,
you gotta have a different relationship with failure.
Every failure is gonna carry the seed of an equivalent
or greater success.
Every failure is gonna carry with it the equivalent,
the seed of an equivalent or greater success.
And so big seed of failure, big opportunities.
Failure is a stepping stone to learning and improvement.
You know, if you wanna be great, you wanna be successful,
you gotta take initiative and ain't gonna come to you on accident.
You gotta go out there and go get it.
Success requires you being proactive and proactive action.
Meaning you gotta go out there and take action steps
towards what it is that you wanna do.
When you wait for the right time, usually that leads
to missed opportunities.
A lot of times, most of the time, it's never the right time.
You know, Napoleon Hill talks a lot about the subconscious mind
that we mentioned.
We gotta program ourselves with positive thoughts
and clear intentions.
You got that law of attraction, right, that you've heard of.
Like, like attracts alike.
Like attracts alike.
So you gotta become it and you'll attract it.
You gotta control the mindset that wavelength is powerful
and strong, it'll attract things to you.
True success into me, true success and happiness
comes from offering value to other people
and serving others, not just from pursuing personal gain.
You're gonna feel empty.
If on your mission, it's all personal gain all the time
is at the forefront of your mind.
The happiness and joy will come when you're adding true value
and serving other people.
When you're down a little bit, if you're down a little bit,
see who can I serve?
Who can I help?
You help yourself by helping other people.
See how you feel.
Go ahead and go ahead and help a bunch of other people.
Man, I'm hurting them upset.
I'm sure, okay, go see if you can help other people.
That is true success and it'll bring you a little bit more joy
and build a momentum that you need in your life.
And so let's go out there, let's think and grow rich.
You ain't gotta be rich financially.
I was talking to a friend of mine today in the sauna
and we got in deep conversations like, man,
some of the things you talked to me about,
make me feel not as bad for being broke.
And I'm like, man, look, man, I learn
so much in this last couple of years.
I've learned one of the things in this transition of,
I moved out of my old house that we had into a new house.
And so we spent a period of, I don't know, three, four months
in a small condo, three bedrooms.
I made, I mean, he's ain't big bedrooms either.
You know what I mean?
Three bedrooms, two bathrooms.
I put all, we put all one room, we made a closet.
And then another room, I had a little single bed there
with hangers and then the closet for like my work stuff,
suits and stuff.
And then we made the whole other room, the biggest room,
we put beds together and like the whole family
would sleep all together at one time.
And I was happy.
I was not depressed because we were in a little smaller place,
three kids, dog, wife, two adults, three kids,
three bedrooms, small bedrooms.
I still was able to go outside and play catch with my son.
There was plenty of room to do that.
We had one, two cars out, I had to be parked in a normal parking lot,
no garage.
So we had to go walk sometimes out and go take a hike, walk,
you know, to get my stuff.
And so you go from this scenario where you got this nice house,
nice neighborhood pool, you know, all this other,
to this other house you're gonna go into.
But then I told them I said, I learned, I was no,
I'm no happier now in this new house.
Everybody asked me, how's your new house?
I mean, it's good, it's a house.
I'm cool, I appreciate, I love it, it's beautiful,
but the house don't have me, we got the house.
I was just as happy as I was in the condo.
And so what you learned, you know,
I sold a nice car I had, you know,
I had a nice rose, rose, sold the rose,
you know, my everyday car right now is a black U-con.
I love that, love that U-con.
My wife drives the rain drover.
I mean, we got, that's nice enough cars, right?
So I'm no happier now or sad because I ain't driving the rolls.
I can get a rose if I want a rose.
I'm good.
It just doesn't affect me.
So it's not about like if the goal is joy and happiness,
it's not about the stuff,
the stuff ain't never gonna make you completely happy.
It's cool to have, definitely more fun to have,
couple dollars than to be broke.
But true success comes from adding value
and serving other people.
And then you never, you never, you know,
we were talking about when you,
if you're together with a group of people,
you never know what somebody else is going through.
You know, you hear people, there's this term that says,
hey man, if you're with a group of people
and we all truly through our problems on the wall
and you could see everybody else's real problems
they're going through right now,
most of the time you would just keep your own.
Because people out there going through so much shit
that you have no idea of what it would be like
to walk in their shoes or what are the things
that they're going through.
If you could train your mind to think that way,
it's a little bit easier to overcome obstacles
or temporary setbacks understanding everybody's going through
stuff and it can always, always be worse.
If you're listening to me now and you got your health,
you got your basic needs met, you got your health man,
go out there and be positive, have that attitude
of gratitude and control the things that you can control
and find joy right where you're at
and work as hard as you can towards your goal
in the pursuit of that while you're serving other people
and watch how much fun that you have.
All right, so control your thoughts,
control your actions, those actions will lead you
to where you want to be, one of those actions
that led you here, we appreciate.
