Count money, man.
Money, man.
That grits us.
I'm trying to talk, I'm trying to talk to my mom, Beast Bud.
What's up, gang?
Welcome back to another episode of The Grindcast.
Get ready.
It's a new day.
We're going to talk about the price of greatness.
I think the deliberate suffering is the price of greatness.
Deliberately going through some sort of suffering is the price of greatness.
Every rep, every rejection, every lonely night, every sacrifice, it's just the rent that's
due to make a dream come true.
You don't escape having to suffer.
You just choose which kind of suffering that you're going to do.
You either going to suffer from the pain of regret.
Are you going to suffer from the pain of discipline?
The pain of discipline or the pain of disappointment?
The suffering of discipline or the suffering of disappointment, but either way that we
got to go through some suffer.
Purposeful pain builds resilience.
You choose the pain on purpose and build up your resilience.
The excuses, you got to look at excuses like it's a frickin' mental illness.
The excuses that build up in our mind.
This is right, your potential, like the things that you're capable of doing it, rot you
from the inside out when you start to entertain the excuses.
They make failure feel more comfortable, right?
So I get it.
You know what I mean?
This is the reason why and it makes it feel a little bit more comfortable and it's a little
bit more palatable, but that's the trap.
And entitlement is high.
This is a quote that we've used for a long time.
When entitlement is high, gratitude is low, right?
So when people feel entitlement says, I deserve this.
Gratitude says, I have to earn this.
I'll earn this.
I owe so much from what I've been blessed with.
We gotta stay hungry, but you also gotta stay grateful.
What do you have to be grateful for?
How can you look back on life and look at where you're at right now and the way things
could have been worse?
Or the blessings that you have in front of you and stay grateful?
The second that you feel that you're old something, it seems like people stop creating value.
And when you stop creating value, you stop climbing.
You stop being sought after.
And so we can't feel that entitlement.
We gotta constantly be out there chasing at and value.
And I think it starts from a spirit of gratitude, the attitude of gratitude.
And I like to go to extremes that there's people out there that you could find and inspire
you that amaze me.
There's people out there with one arm or no legs.
I'm watching them wrestle and compete at different things.
They're just fighting through life, finding no excuses.
And then it like really humbles me to look at myself and say, what the heck should you
be able to do?
What are your real excuses if these people are able to accomplish all of this?
The world is full of proof that our limits are only mental.
It may be a little bit more difficult.
It may be a little bit steeper of a hill.
But there's typically a bunch of people.
There's people out there that have overcome insurmountable odds larger than our own to keep
our thoughts in perspective.
And typically it ain't that when you start getting lazy or stop progressing, it's not
that you're too tired.
It's usually you're just comfortable.
The ones who have every reason to quit seems like they end up becoming the greatest examples
of perseverance at times.
They never see those people that they just no matter, they have every reason, every excuse,
every opportunity just makes complete sense for them to just quit and give up and you watch
those people just persevere.
In life you gotta be able to rehab.
That's why I love sports as a teacher because you're gonna get hurt if you're playing physical
sports eventually you're gonna end up hurt.
The rehab process is tough.
You know, you gotta, when you're ambitious man, the hardest thing to do is to sit down.
I can't control this situation.
It's gonna take me three months to get back just to get back to where I was and I gotta
do all this work just to get back to where I was three months ago.
I'm gonna lose strength.
I gotta sit down.
I can't work.
I can't progress.
I need others to help me.
I gotta rehab and all this, what the same thing goes in life.
Sometimes life is gonna give you something and you get hurt and you're set back three
months, six months, one year.
You gotta do all this work just to get back to where you were and you can't skip the healing
process when you get hurt.
You rehab so you can come back stronger.
You don't rehab so I can just come back the same.
Beef knocks everybody down, but how you rebuild determines who you become.
It's how many times can you get knocked down by life and keep rising, keep getting up,
keep rebuilding yourself, keep reinventing yourself, keep learning what life is trying
to teach you to become the person that you're called to be.
Gratitude costs something.
You know, if you're in a pursuit of greatness and you're like, man, I don't know why I keep
getting kicked.
I don't know why I keep getting knocked down.
You probably got a big goal.
You probably got a big dream.
You probably have the potential to do something great, but greatness costs a bunch.
And it's usually more than most people are willing to pay.
That's what makes it rare.
And so the question is, are you willing to pay the price?
And when I say the price, the price is what?
What's the price?
Deliberate suffering is the price of greatness.
That we're gonna go chase greatness and we're gonna purposely understand and we're gonna
walk down this valley.
We're gonna walk up this mountain.
We're gonna climb this mountain.
And it's just gonna be a lot of suffering in order to get greatness, in order to come out
the other side and accomplish all these dreams, all their goals.
And so those of you guys out there paying the price for greatness, don't grow weary.
Don't get tired.
Don't quit.
Just keep on going, keep on pushing and understand that this is the price of greatness and the
bigger the dream, the bigger the greatness, sometimes the bigger the price.
It's not forever, it's just a season.
And that season is gonna make you exactly who you're supposed to be for a reason if you
just keep on persevering.
So I'm proud of you out there, those of you guys pushing and going through it and keep
on getting back, getting knocked down, getting back up.
That's the price of greatness and we're proud of you over here.
So we appreciate you, as always, if this impact that anybody share it with somebody,
we always are grateful for you joining us on another episode of the Grandcast.
We'll see you next week.
Get ready.
It's a new day.
